Can you believe it!? 😮 9 Years!!! It’s been 9 since I opened my Digital Marketing business Connect Your Social Ltd, AKA Sophie Angell Marketing 🌴🐚

And what a 9 years it’s been.

Full of lessons, opportunities and some EPIC client results.

What started as working from my bedroom at my parents house as a naive 23 year old, to 9 years later running a VAT registered remote Digital Marketing Agency with an incredible team behind me 📈

I’d like to thank 🫶 all of those clients that have worked with me in the last 9 years, the mentors that have guided me, and husband, family and friends for keeping me on track when those testing days have arisen.

In the last 12 months, not only has my Digital Marketing agency grown, we’ve opened up a sister business, The Business Beach Club ™ 🌊 that focuses on educating businesses how to build their own websites and run their own marketing through pre-recorded material and messaging support.

Looking forward to the future there’s plenty planned and I can’t wait to look back in 12 months time and share more incredible achievements 🥂

The hero section is often a large banner at the top of your website above the fold (what people can see without having to scroll).

You only have about 2 seconds to grab your users attention so your hero section needs to work wonders to keep those users engaged and on your website page.

Here's our top tips to what makes a great HERO SECTION, and what will grab and maintain your potential customers' attention!

1️⃣ Compelling Visuals: Make sure your images or video not only stands out but represents your brand!

2️⃣ Clear Value Proposition: Let visitors know what you offer and why it matters to them in a concise, impactful statement.

3️⃣ Call to Action (CTA): Guide users on the next step with a clear CTA button – whether it's 'Book Now', 'Schedule Your Call', or 'Get Started'.

4️⃣ Navigation Clarity: Keep it simple. Direct users where they need to go with intuitive navigation elements.

So often I speak to business owners or pretty important people in companies that can't remember the last time they conducted a full marketing review 😞

It shocks me all the time. Your marketing should be fluid, your marketing should be adapting.... quite simply, your marketing needs attention.

Why because...
✔️The algorithms change all the time, ✔️ links break, ✔️ offers change, ✔️customer journeys need improvement, ✔️software updates, strategy ✔️ evolves.

If you aren't regularly reviewing your marketing activity, you're doing yourself a disservice. ❌ People often get so caught up one piece of the puzzle, e.g. a colour background on their latest social post, when in reality, that time and attention needs to be spent looking at the bigger picture.

🌴 Seeing Taylor Swift Twice (yes it was everything I wanted and more). I’ve been a Swiftie for almost 18 years…. 15 year old Soph is over the moon.

🌴 Client Content Shoots

🌴 Continued to develop the business with some incredible marketing services.

🌴 Getting surprised by my best friends who have been travelling for 9 months, they turned up at our door and they ALMOST made me cry. So happy to have my best friends home.

🌴 Getting a visit from our friends from Australia.

🌴 Travelled to Pembrokeshire, Edinburgh and Durham

I started my business working from my bedroom at my parent's house almost 9 years ago! ✨

As someone naturally quite introverted putting myself out there was beyond my comfort zone. But guess what... I DID IT, AND I STILL CONTINUE TO DO IT EVERY SINGLE DAY.

I knew that running my own business, the freedom and flexibility it could offer and the incredible impact I could have on others business success was worth the discomfort and persistence.

Of course, like any business I still have doubts, but it's funny, talking business, working in my business ... it's where I feel most confident 🌴
