DJ Aaron has been involved with music his entire life to date. His love for music began with influences from his family, his father an avid Bruce Springsteen and Queen fan, Aaron idolized the greats of the rock genre in the 80s and 90s. This led him to pick u
p a guitar and try to imitate his idols, this later morphed into playing various instruments. His teenage years were heavily filled with hip-hop and the discovery of artists like RUN DMC, NWA, 2Pac, Notorious BIG, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg and later on Eminem. Progressing through his teenage years Aaron discovered that he lived in a city (Newport) that was a huge part of the rock scene in music. He attended his first local gig at the infamous venue, TJs. Rock/metal music and gigging became his life. Spending his Saturdays in a local music store, Hitman Music, Aaron would spend all his earnings on CDs and vinyl. Even-though Rock/Metal was the main influence in his purchases, he would still be seen with basketball in hand, listening to his Mini Disk Player through oversized headphones. Bopping’ to his homemade mix tapes including the likes of 2Pac, Notorious BIG, NAS, Jay Z, Puff Daddy, Missy Elliott, DMX, Snoop Dogg, NWA, Dr Dre, Bob Marley, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson etc. Later in life he found himself in a position to move his musical knowledge into DJing, scoring his first gig in 2010 at the Meze Lounge Newport under the name DJ FURBY and the rest is history as they say. Aaron has DJ’d several venues over the years up and down the UK, supporting multiple events, brands, djs and artists. Supporting DJ’s and acts that include Charlie Sloth, Majestic, High Contrast, JFB, Akil MC (Jurassic 5), DJ Marky, NuTone, 3OH3!, Hadouken, Daniel P Carter, Kerrang!, Skindred, You Me At Six, Funeral For a Friend, Astroid Boyz, The Blackout, Kids in Glass Houses, Hacktivist and many more. With his varying music influences and tastes Aaron has developed a DJ style that is unique and electric. Every DJ set is an experience not to be missed. Aaron prides himself on giving 110% into every dj performance. Mixing old and the new across various genres, he always has the crowds singing their hearts out and dancing until the early hours.
