We had a wonderful evening last night! So nice to see so many lovely faces, and some beautiful music from Nev Clay, Pauline Murray & Hector Gannet!

Tonight we do it all over again! This time joined by Scott Hepple and The Sun Band (Solo)
We'll be open from 2pm serving tea, coffee, snacks, cakes & beer of course! Live music starting around 7.30pm.

We're all speed ahead into this weekends opening event. The tickets for live performances have all gone, however we will still be open if you'd like to call in for a beer or coffee!

Hey Everyone! We're having an opening event at the studio next weekend (Fri 26th - Sun 28th July)
It's been about 8 months since we refurbed the studio and it feels like we should celebrate and let you lovely folks come and see what we've been up to!

We've secured a license to will be serving beer, spirits, soft drinks, coffee, tea & cakes!

Friday & Saturday evenings: Enjoy solo acoustic sets from Hector Gannet, Pauline Murray, & (Friday) TBA or (Saturday) Scott Hepple and The Sun Band!

Sunday: Relax and unwind with a chilled-out day. Feel free to pop by and say hello (and maybe grab a cold beverage).

Entry is completely free! However, to help us get an idea of numbers, reserving a space through the links below.
We'll be dropping more info over the next few days. In the meantime, feel free to send us a DM if you have any questions.

It's been a really busy start to the year here at the studio! We've already had some great bands and artist come through! There's also been a tonne of releases these past couple of months recorded / mixed at the studio!

🎊Here's to 2023!🎊
This year has been a big one at the studio with some huge changes! We spent the first half of the year building and then had the busiest end to the year making records with some fantastic artists!

2024 is already looking bright and we can't wait to help bring to life more musical projects!
Thanks so much to all the musicians who've already been in working in the new space!!

We've been busy wrapping up the building work at the studio and the control room is finally DONE!

We've already had a few sessions in testing the place out and it's sounding fantastic! were in working on their new EP and the drums sound huge!

We plan on tailoring the live room acoustics a little bit more however we're already so excited to finally be back up and running.

The synths are all set up and we even spent a couple of days getting our 16 track tape machine up and running! (Which was so interesting listening back to some tracks that were recorded at our old place in the early 90's)

The end of the build is in sight!! The control room is nearly finished - carpets are down, desk is in, racks are wired up... Just got to wrap up our acoustic panelling and that'll be it!

We've removed the old carpet in the live room and are beginning to clean up the original tiled floor. Then we'll give it the final coat of paint and some acoustic treatment!

Both rooms have just had A/C installed which is an absolute luxury!

Looking forward to our first session which is booked in for a couple of weeks time! Plenty of time to finish off!

It's been a while since we've given an update, but we've been working incredibly hard behind the scenes!!
These pictures are actually about 4 weeks old so this is just a taste of the studio build so far! We'll be posting some more up to date pictures on the weekend.

You can see the plasterers have been in and the control room is starting to take shape.
The live room is going to be such a beautiful bright space, really can't wait to track some drums in there!

On the 17th April we will be closing the studios as we commence building work to expand, improve and up-date our recording studio. When we re-open in August, Polestar will no longer facilitate hourly rehearsal sessions as we focus our energy on the new recording studio.
It’s the end of an era for us but Polestar has been a creative hub in Newcastle for the past thirty years and we will continue to house musicians and bands in our spaces. We already have a great roster of artists operating from our building.
We’d like to thank all of the bands who have used our facility over the years and look forward to seeing you again in our new recording studio.
We will keep you posted as our project develops.
