We’re incredibly proud to share that “Do You Hear What I Hear” has reached No.14 in this week’s UK Official Physical Singles Chart 💿

This marks a newly recorded version of last year’s Santa Ste release, with Layla Naugher from Sunderland on lead vocals and backing from Santa and Ocean-Lea, alongside a bonus track featuring Layla.

In a week packed with some of the biggest artists in the world, a Top 15 physical chart position for an independent release is a huge achievement.

More than the number, this release has been about raising much needed funds for charity & giving Layla a platform to record professionally, to step forward as a lead vocalist and to gain confidence through the experience of putting her voice out into the world. She has handled everything with maturity, talent and heart and should feel incredibly proud of what she’s achieved.

Thank you to everyone who supported the release and chose to back it physically.

And a massive well done to Layla this is a brilliant moment in her journey and only the beginning ❤️

Beyond Records is proud to announce a special double A-side Christmas single from Santa Ste and rising young vocalist Layla Naugher.

Layla, who is home educated due to struggles in mainstream school, discovered a life changing passion for musical theatre and vocal performance. Her mother says:
“Layla is like a different person when she’s on stage. Music has brought out the very best in her.”

The collaboration began when Layla’s Nanna contacted Santa Ste to ask whether Layla could perform in his Big Christmas Variety Show. Later in the year, Layla reached out to him herself – a moment of determination that inspired Santa Ste to take the next step and contact Beyond Records.

This release continues the ongoing partnership between Santa Ste and Beyond Records. David McGovern and Paul Fairbairn worked closely with Layla and Santa in the studio, ensuring a calm, comfortable environment so Layla could shine.

Last year’s Christmas single reached No.3 in the Official UK Charts, and this updated double A-side features new vocals and production while keeping the heart of the original.

This year’s single celebrates community, resilience, and the incredible power of music to lift people up.

We’ve officially launched a Crowdfunder to kickstart Beyond Music CIC the new community led music academy and live events project we’re building right here in the West End of Newcastle.

From the team behind Beyond Vinyl, this is about more than music, it’s about giving young people and local talent real access to recording, performance, production and industry knowledge regardless of background or income.
