ONE WHOLE YEAR!

We launched Radio Shields on DAB this time last year!

Let's keep making real local radio!

It's been one whole year since Radio Shields launched on DAB Digital Radio across South Shields and Tynemouth.

We launched as an online local radio station for the community in 2019. Since then, the station has gone from strength to strength delivering local news and information!
We've welcomed members of the community to access the airwaves

We've been to the best events across South Tyneside and North Tyneside.

Saturday 11th December 2021we launched the station on DAB Digital Radio, providing a full-time local community radio service to the local area. One of our greatest achievements!

We'd like to say a thank you to everyone who has listened, supported us, or worked with us past and present, and future! 🎧

Let's continue making real local radio for South Shields and Tynemouth.

Very sad to hear the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) I'm sure, like myself we all feel a sadness in this news.

Radio Shields is in OBIT and has suspended all programming until Saturday Morning. This means our output will be soft contemporary music including the latest National news twice an hour.

As the country begins 10 days of mourning our beloved Queen 👸 💔 😢
