I’ve been diving deep into the Korg Opsix MKII and it’s quickly become one of those synthesisers I reach for whenever I want something that’s both expressive and full of sonic depth. From the first moment I played it, I was struck by how this isn’t just another digital keyboard, it’s a creative instrument built around an evolved “Altered FM” synthesis engine that gives me way more flexibility than traditional FM synths I’ve used before.

KHR085 | Ferniemusic Aphelion Ep

Fernie’s Aphelion marks an evocative return to KHOROS, reinforcing his stature as one of the UK’s most compelling voices in deep, atmospheric techno. After previous outings that helped define his cosmic, hypnotic sound, this EP carries that lineage forward with renewed depth and poise.
Moments of brooding calm sit alongside intricate percussive details, creating a push-and-pull that keeps your attention throughout the EP. Rather than relying on predictable builds and drops, he prefers textural evolution, letting layers breathe and evolve organically.

The production here is rich without being cluttered. Each track feels meticulously shaped, with subtle flourishes that reward repeated listens. Fernie’s ability to make techno that works both on the club system and in solitary headphone sessions speaks to his dual identity as a dancefloor artisan and contemplative composer, a signature that has defined his career thus far.
Aphelion doesn’t simply revisit familiar territory; it expands it. In a landscape where techno can sometimes feel formulaic, this EP stands out precisely because of its textural nuance, emotional breadth, and thoughtful pacing.

Emesh, the brainchild of Antonio Muñoz, emerges from the enchanting region of La Alcarria, Spain, as a true visionary in music. With an extraordinary ability to weave together electronic, ambient, slow trance, IDM, and dub, he crafts captivating sonic landscapes that resonate deeply with the soul. Since 2013, his journey with Sendero Records has transformed the auditory experience, offering a rich and diverse palette of sound that both moves and soothes.Antonio's musical journey began in the vibrant 1980s as a resident DJ at the iconic Deadly club in Brihuega. His undeniable talent quickly propelled him to Madrid's most prestigious venues, including the Círculo de Bellas Artes and Mondo, where he performed under the name Dujay. In the early 2000s, he took the lead in pioneering deep trance and progressive house in the city by founding the underground Darkbeat parties, forever changing the local music scene. But Emesh is much more than a music producer; Antonio is a sound healer who masterfully bridges ancient wisdom with contemporary beats. His expertise in Tibetan singing bowls and shamanic drums adds a unique spiritual depth to his productions, enriching the listening experience.
