🥇 We Feed The UK wins double award 🥇

We’re delighted to announce a double win for We Feed the UK at the Gourmand Book Awards: 🥇Best Photography Book 🥇Best Artists’ Book.

We Feed the UK is a project rooted in collaboration, and we want to acknowledge the extraordinary farmers, growers, fishers, bakers, seed-keepers, foragers, and food communities who shared their lives through these pages. Within this book are ten deeply human stories, from inter-generational farming families, to Black-led community growers in London, women cooperatives in Scotland, to sustainable fishing off the south coast of England. Each chapter pairs photography with evocative poetry, capturing a landscape of care, resistance, and renewal.

Publishing a book like this is exactly what we believe independent publishing should do: amplify vital stories, unite food, culture, photography, poetry, ecology, and social insight, and create books that both inform and inspire.

This award is not only a recognition of this special book but of the people behind it. We want to thank our partners at The Gaia Foundation who created the project, the photographers and writers who shaped the narrative, and our own team at Papadakis, who brought such skill and poured so much heart into every stage of this project. We also want to thank Gourmand International for recognising the importance of these stories and for championing the power of books to build connection, awareness, and change.

A future is possible where nature-friendly farming strengthens climate, wildlife, and communities.

A wonderful video showing hilgihts from Saudi Feast Food festival and World Cookbook Fair - Gourmand International - Gourmand Awards where Papadakis was honoured with the award: "Best Publisher in the World". The ceremony also saw two of our titles – Food Planet Future and We Feed The UK – win prestigious awards in their categories.

To be recognised on this global stage – among publishers from 96 countries and so many remarkable books, creators, and cultures – was so deeply moving.

This publishing house was founded in 1967 by my father Andreas Papadakis, whose publications defined an era in architectural publishing. He was naturally intuitive, and became a leading creator of books on architecture, and design, championing causes and movements that were way ahead of their time. I continue that spirit today, connecting the worlds of art and science, nature, food, photography and design.

✨Riyadh bound!

Alexandra Papadakis is heading to Riyadh to attend the Gourmand International Awards, where We Feed the UK has been nominated in three categories, and Seeds – Time Capsules of Life has also received recognition following its award in Lisbon. The event takes place within the Saudi Feast Food Festival, bringing together food culture, storytelling, and culinary heritage from around the world, but especially from the many regions of Saudi Arabia itself.
