If this was a member of your family or a friend cycling would you slow right down, be patient and leave plenty of space if you were overtaking, so that you didn’t put them in danger?

Leave a minimum 1.5m of space when passing a cyclist and if there isn’t room, wait until there is.

You may possibly cause Neosporosis / Abortion of calves which could even lead to a cull.
Farmers work hard all year round to look after the cows and for a 5 minute run for your dog you cost us money and stock! !
Thank You.

It’s illegal to hold and use a handheld mobile phone while driving a motor vehicle on the roads in the UK. πŸš—πŸš«πŸ“±

Using a mobile phone or handheld device is a specific offence but can also be considered to be dangerous or careless driving.

Even using a hands-free option can incur penalties if your driving is deemed to be dangerous.

Penalties include points on your licence and a fine. You could lose your licence if you've passed your test in the last two years.

And it’s still illegal to use your hand held mobile device if you're:

πŸ‘‰ stopped at traffic lights
πŸ‘‰ queuing in traffic
πŸ‘‰ supervising a learner driver
πŸ‘‰ driving a car that turns off the engine when you stop moving
πŸ‘‰ holding and using a device that's offline or in flight mode when driving your car

You can use a hand-held phone when you need to call 999 or 112 in an emergency and it’s unsafe or impractical to stop.

Picture the scene πŸ‘€

You've been involved in a car crash. You're almost certain that your car is a write off. You can feel pain coming on in your back and neck. 😣

The occupants of the other car get out and are surrounding yours. You start to panic.

As someone living with communication difficulties, you try to explain this to the driver of the other car, but they don't understand. The panic begins to increase.

You call 999 and luckily, you've already registered with the Pegasus scheme, so the call handler knows about your communication struggles, and knows exactly what to do. πŸ™Œ

They manage to calm you down, explain what's going to happen, speak to the other driver, all while sending officers to the scene of the crash. πŸš”

This was a real situation that happened recently for a woman in South Cambridgeshire. She was so thankful for the Pegasus scheme that she sent us a 'thankyou' form afterwards, which said: "The call handler followed my requests and helped save me from a spiralling panic attack with such class and grace, I felt the need to feed this back.

"The operator kept me calm until two officers came to my aid. They too were equally as brilliant, and said it helped them to have the information provided by Pegasus to help them best prepare themselves on how to help and support me. What a brilliant scheme, and I hope its rolled out country wide."

Our Pegasus scheme is for people who find it hard to communicate with us due to a disability or health condition – we keep your pre-registered information safe on our computer and we can access it quickly if you call us. Learn more here: https://orlo.uk/FltuT
