LATEST - Cause of fire confirmed at Milton Keynes Market.

“ Following yesterday's fire at Milton Keynes covered market it has been confirmed that the fire was caused by an electrical fault.

TVP would like to thank members of the public for their patience.

Some road closures remain in place for safety reasons which are being managed by other agencies. “

🚒We are supporting Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue at the scene of a fire at the outdoor Market in Milton Keynes.
⚠️ Cordons are in place and members of the public are advised to avoid the area due to the risk of smoke inhalation.
⚠️ Those in buildings and residences, particularly those in high rise buildings should keep doors and windows closed due to smoke.
🚑 Currently there are no casualties as a result of the fire.
⛔ A number of road closures are in place, we apologise for the inconvenience, but it is for the safety of everyone.

BREAKING NEWS - Our thoughts are with the traders and all involved

We are deeply saddened to announce that a fire broke out at Milton Keynes Market last night. Emergency services were called to the scene and worked tirelessly to bring the fire under control.

We are still assessing the extent of the damage, but the market will be closed until further notice.

This is a devastating blow to our market traders, especially during the busy Christmas period. We ask for your understanding and consideration during this difficult time, as businesses have been affected.

We will provide updates as soon as we have more information.

BREAKING NEWS - MPs vote in favour of legalising assisted dying.

MPs have voted in favour of advancing legislation that would legalise assisted dying in a historic parliamentary vote.

The outcome of the vote is:

In favour: 330

Opposed: 275

That equates to a majority of 55 votes.
As a reminder: This is the second reading of the bill - there are further stages for it to clear before it could become law.

Assisted dying could become legal in England and Wales after the bill was backed by MPs in a historic vote.
