It was lovely to meet Matthew yesterday!
They have a local wonderful business we are proud to be connected too.

Today was bustling with activity at our shop! We had the pleasure of welcoming Katy from Go Local Middlewich, who came by to interview our very own Matthew for a feature in the July edition of their magazine. Not only did we have a great chat, but Katy also managed to capture a photo of Matthew for the mag! We're eagerly anticipating the publication and can't wait to share this highlight with all of you. Little update from Katy...

Last year, when we were approached by the new independent organisers of the FAB Festival, we enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to support them. Our commitment to our local community is of utmost importance, and we wholeheartedly shared their passion for this Middlewich event. Since November of last year, we have dedicated our time and resources, providing a platform to promote the festival throughout Middlewich.

It is with a heavy heart I have to say we are no longer involved in the production and delivery of the Festival Guide. Personally, I am deeply saddened by this outcome, as I was eagerly anticipating the opportunity to design the guide and distribute it with Go Local.

Made a footstool with my own hands, learnt a little about dairy farming, taught a podcasting lesson to the same farmers and interviewed a gym owner about how he is moving his gym… onto a different farm! I am going to chill out with a lovely glass of milk now!

SPAM ALERT - please share.

There is a spam email going round businesses, which looks like the below - with local towns.

SCAM DO NOT TRUST - Data farming and extorting low value amount so you do not question.

The website have downloaded the census data for 2021 and dressed this up in a website that looks like it is part of the gov.uk family. They have a standard response saying that the gov.uk style is freely available, while this is true it is intention is to be deceptive and build trust with the potential victim.

The use of the Parish.uk domain is again to build a trust with the local areas they are targeting, no local parish council would charge to run a business listing website. And the design of the email send to businesses (we are one is again in a style that HMRC/Gov.uk use to be deceptive)

They have also included links on the page to the Local Government Association to build trust, but when you click the link this takes your to a web.archive link. therefore the data is not part of the LGA activity.

A simple scam of asking thousands of businesses to pay a nominal amount each month, there are no contact details apart from anonymous emails addresses.

If you have signed up cancel as soon as possible.
