Twigg Trivia…

In 1924, the world’s first radio drama was broadcast by the BBC. A man was credited with that first. But in 1922 Phyllis Twigg wrote a children’s play performed live on the BBC at Christmas.

It’s definitely not the first time a woman’s contribution to history has gone awry. The Truth About Phyllis Twigg is a light-hearted drama about giving credit where credit’s due – even if it takes 100 years to get it.

Tune in for the truth on Christmas Eve, BBC Radio 4 @2:15pm

Featuring: Tamsin Grieg, Rory Kinnear, Aja Dodd, Amit Shah

Writer: Paul Kerensa
Sound Design: Eloise Whitmore
Original Music: Neil Brand
Producer: Andrew Mark Sewell
Director: Helen Quigley

“Thank you for calling B7 Media. Our offices are closed for the Christmas holidays. To reach Andrew on his mobile, please visit 1922. Helen is unavailable at this time, but the office radio is missing and her handbag is still here. If you see her, do not approach, she is probably feral by now. Thank you, goodbye”

B7 Comics (the comic book imprint of B7 Media) has teamed up with bestselling author and screenwriter Alex de Campi (Rogue Trooper: Ghost Patrol and Duncan Jones’ Madi: Once Upon A Time in the Future) and Marc Laming (James Bond, Eden, Endeavour) for a three-book reimagining of the classic British adventure strip Dan Dare, with the full approval of the rights holders The Dan Dare Corporation.

“A dying planet, a desperate mission—and a first contact that may spell the end of human life as we know it…” sets the scene for these all-new Dan Dare comic book adventures.

A crowdfunding campaign for Book One “First Contact” will officially launch on 1 February 2026 and, if successful, Dan Dare: First Contact will be published in Q4 2027. The script for Book One has already been written, and Marc is itching for take-off – and, in fact, has already drawn some early concept art!
Stay tuned as we count down to project launch, as we will be posting the first eight fully lettered and coloured pages of the book on the Kickstarter campaign page.

Dan Dare: First Contact is a circa 112-page, graphic novel which will be offered as an eBook, paperback, hardback and premium Kickstarter-exclusive hardback edition.

Please join producers Andrew Mark Sewell and Matthew Devlen at the Raindance Film Festival in reminiscing about the unforgettable journey of making "Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont" with the late, great Dan Ireland — including the now-legendary film backlot created near Hyde Park that brought the film to life for less than a million quid, at a time when many said it couldn’t be done in London. You'll also have a chance to connect with cast & crew, reuniting for the first time in 20 years. https://raindance.eventive.org/schedule/mrs-palfrey-at-the-claremont-q-a-with-filmmakers-682b786a559b18dda073a216

Awards nomination klaxon! Our World War II audio drama “Unsinkable” (a .media co-production with Datura Studios, North Atlantic Ridge and AudioMarvels) has been nominated for a Webby at the 29th Annual Webby Awards. We are now competing for the internet’s two most coveted Awards (their words not ours) - The Webby Award and The Webby People’s Voice Award.

If you enjoyed our series please do vote for “Unsinkable” here (we’re one of five nominees for Limited-Series & Specials / Scripted (Fiction)

In addition to the WeBBY nomination UNSINKABLE has also just been nominated by the UK’s Radio Academy for Best Drama. You can see all the nominations here https://www.radioacademy.org/2025-arias-nominees/

That’s the 4th major nomination the show’s received and for a collective of boutique indies competing against the likes of Audible and the BBC we’re certainly punching above our weight. These nominations are especially pleasing given that this series was rejected by all the major audio platforms, was independently financed and was the No. 1 fiction podcast in several territories. Huge kudos to the cast and crew.
