A form of technology still very much in its infancy, yet improving rapidly, generative AI has become a real buzzword of late.

But did you know it can be used in the funeral planning process too?

For example, chatbots and writing software such as ChatGPT can be very helpful when composing eulogies. At a time when those who knew the deceased best are grieving and perhaps struggling to write their thoughts, the chatbot can be very useful in structuring raw emotional thoughts into a powerful, compelling eulogy.

AI is not for everyone, especially in the context of funerals, and we understand it can raise complex ethical issues. As with every element of the funeral planning process, the final decision is an incredibly personal one, and ultimately only the person or people arranging the funeral can decide if its use is appropriate or not.
