What a way to the end the year ❤️

We just want to say a huge thank you to everybody who joined us last weekend for the masterclass in the Basement.

We couldn’t have imagined a better way to top of an unbelievable year for the Rug and to see the place packed out with everyone smiling and having it off proper once again despite the weather means the world to us.

Melody delivered one of the finest sets the basements every seen, seamlessly blending house, electro and techno over 3 mind-bending hours after the pace was set perfectly by our residents and the pre-party DJ’s.

Huge thank you to the Stage & Radio family as always and a massive massive big up to every single one of you who have danced with us this year, you’ve made us a very happy team.

For now, we’ll have a little break but it wont be for too long as we’re back on the 7th feb for our first event of 2026.

ONE DAY TO GO ✂️✂️

Set times for our final event of the year are now live, with making her debut with an extended 3 hour set.

Online tickets are still available, the last few second release are remaining until we’re on final release.

We’ll be saving some on the door, cash and card accepted - £15.

Pre party starts at 7pm, get down early and support the DJ’s and the venue, all welcome, no basement ticket needed so come make some new mates.

Basement opens at 10pm with our residents kicking things off, last entry 1am.

It’s party week, takes charge of the basement this Saturday 🙌

With a treasure chest of records packed with dance-floor weapons, Melody makes the journey over from Paris for her Cut the Rug debut.

The basement is an underground intimate setting fitted with a hefty Martin Audio sound system, perfect for a small capacity party.

We’ll be kicking things off with a social pre-party in the bar from 7pm to get you all warmed up nicely.

No basement ticket required, so feel free to pop in for a pint if you’re out and about.

As we move closer to next Saturdays takeover of with , we focus on two artists who’ll be soundtracking the pre-party in the bar area.

Connect label owners join us for the second time, fresh off taking their imprint around the globe with showcases in Barcelona, Athens, Bucharest and the ancient Chinese city of Xian.

Part of the long-running Beatnik Collective and one half of production duo KRSTWO, makes his CTR debut. A stalwart of the Manchester scene, Rossa has honed his craft through years of parties, featuring at WHP for circoloco alongside Apollonia & Dixon to add to many Sankeys appearances.

With 8 Gottwood’s under his belt, most recently kicking off things at Ricky’s for the Ba Dum Tish showcase, Rossa played a huge part in the Tpot parties which became synonymous within Manchester for their collaborations with Zutekh in South Courtyard.

You can catch all of these, for free, in the bar area from 7pm alongside before we head downstairs for the main event.

Next Saturday we bring this energy to Stage & Radio, as steps into the basement for a 150 cap throwdown under the streets of Manchester

It’s not very often you get to catch an artists of her calibre in such an intimate setting so don’t leave it late, secure your ticket and join us as we dance together one last time this year.

With a record bag packed with slick electro, rolling house and electric breaks, we can’t wait for to make her debut on the 6th December.

Our paths crossed last year when we sent our resident on a scouting mission on the other side of the world to Zanzibar Gathering and the report was to expect nothing but carefully curated tracks, perfect for a Northern Quarter basement.

Take a look at the talented selectors kicking things off on the 6th when we bring to the Northern Quarter.

Led by a selection of esteemed local artists, the pre-party is completely FREE to anyone who wants to attend, with no basement ticket needed.

The pre-parties are hugely important for the whole night, setting the tone and easing you in so it’s business time only when we go downstairs.

They’re also a great way to support the venue, so get down early, bring a mate and your dad and come support the Dj’s and 🫡

With less than a month to go until makes her Northern Quarter Debut, take a look back at her providing the vibes across two sets full of memorable moments at this year’s Dimensions Festival.

First up she took to the seas, controlling the ship on Dr Banana’s Boat party b2b with Lamalice before heading straight to the Beach Stage for a prime time b2b with Anna Wall, littered with spine tingling 90’s house, breaks and electro goodness.

9 Years of the Rug ✂️❤️

Yesterday marked 9 years since our first ever party at 1 Primrose Street.

As a small capacity event, we couldn’t be more proud and happy to still be doing what we love and sharing it with all you.

This years been such a special one with our Ibiza debut, closing out the main room in Eden after Waff, returning to Into the Woods Festival and bringing all our favourite artists to the Northern Quarter.

We just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who’s joined us at any point along on the dance floor, at a pre party or at an afters.

We’ve made our home ever since we began, and wouldn’t be where we are now without all the team behind us.

We’ve got one last party to close out the year coming up, with gracing the basement for the first time ever.

But for now, enjoy a selection of sweaty, messy and mega snaps from this years events including a mid mixer game of limbo 😂😂
