Right then people, as we move forward to put together STRCT012, the labels 12th digital release, we have decided to go back to our roots and bring back an artist + long-time friend to the label, SATIVA.

We first started speaking to SATIVA around 2015/16, well before Strictly 140 was even a label. I was an admirer of his production style and a huge fan of his duo alias with JFO entitled BFM. Whilst working for a Magazine I wrote about his music a number of times and since then we built a friendship through our love for 140 music.

Fast forward to 2017 and we featured BFM on the labels debut refix EP as well as putting out a free download from SATIVA. From there we linked up on various occasions over the years until eventually getting booked together in Germany for a collaborative weekend label link-up with ‘Hooded Up’ [JFO’s Label] in 2018.

In 2019 he featured on the labels debut vinyl-only release alongside JFO with their track ‘Untitled’ and from there, in 2020, we decided to put out a digital release from SATIVA. It was 4 instrumental tracks of icy weight, bridging the gap between grime and dubstep perfectly.

We are very excited to share with you his next project, it’s been 4 years to the day since his last one on the label, so we think it’s about time.

STRCT012 entitled ‘Dem Nuh Chat EP’ features 3 tracks of pure Soundsystem weight, incorporating various dubstep, grime & garage flavours into all 3 tracks.

The artwork is being created by our resident designer Rhys Leeds and the entire release should be out exclusively on Bandcamp by 20/04/2024, official online distro retailers will release the EP a few weeks later.

As we proceed to put together STRCT011, our 11th digital release, we have finally decided to collaborate with long-time affiliate to the label, and close personal friend, TUBZ

We first met TUBZ in 2015/16 at a free party in Preston when he was just 17, he came back to the unit we were renting at the time and jumped on the decks, it was clearly apparent that this young artist was a wizard when it came to technical DJ ability, and had a savagely eclectic mix of music he was able to spin.

After that first initial meeting, we kept in touch and found out he was a household name in the Liverpool music scene. Not only was he a great DJ but a hugely talented producer.

Over the years TUBZ has honed in on his skills as a producer and really evolved his style. He’s produced for an array of rappers & grime artists as well as releasing an abundance of instrumental projects with various labels including a vinyl release on the well-known label EC2A.

As a producer, he likes to cover a mixture of genres from dubstep & grime to garage and trap + more. He tends to dip his toes into various sounds and textures when it comes to producing.

We are super excited to share with you his next project, it’s been a long time coming as TUBZ has already released a couple of free DL’s with us as well as joining us on radio a number of times over the years.

STRCT011 will be a 2-track instrumental EP from TUBZ incorporating heavy hitting 808s & infectious vocal cuts, proper party music. The artwork is being created by our resident designer Rhys Leeds - the entire release should be out by March.
