Hope Mill Recording Studios are based in Ancoats, Manchester, UK Right in the heart of the city's illustrious music scene. All rooms have natural daylight.

Hope Mill Recording Studios are based in a grade 2 listed Mill in Ancoats/New Islington, Manchester. The studios have a great mix of both analogue and digital technology. All rooms have been carefully considered for their acoustic properties. There are some great recording environments mixing varying degrees of diffusion & absorbtion, from semi anechoic to highly reflective, it's all covered. The

control rooms are designed to give a nice even & balanced response too. The live space is a great sounding room to capture that classic “ambient” sound. There is also an acoustically treated iso-booth for recording vocals and instruments in complete isolation. The studios were built with precise studio acoustics with musicians in mind. Hopefully we have created a friendly, homely environment which is conducive for making great music. We’ve filled the studios with first rate technology such as an Amek Einstein 40 channel mixing console and a fine collection of mics and pre-amps. We also have a growing collection of classic analogue gear such as; amps, pedals and vintage tape machines. Two hearts beat as one! ❤️

We now are running 2 x UAD Apollo 16 Audio Interfaces, giving a total of 32 ins & outs. Enough to record a small orchestra!!

Remembering Denise ❤️

So, today we are remembering our good friend Denise Johnson who passed away a year ago today.

'D', noted for her extensive work with Primal Scream, A Certain Ratio, Electronic, Ian Brown, Johnny Marr (and many, many more!) recorded her debut album at the studio and was often in recording videos and interviews as well as rehearsing for gigs and festivals. She would sometimes just pop in to see how we were getting on, which was really lovely of her.

She was like a shining light in the studio with a real uplifting presence, always beaming with a beautiful & radiant smile, she was always a pleasure to be around.

As well as being a truly gifted and amazing singer, she was a warm, kind and truly inspirational person. She was extremely funny too! and often had us in stitches with all her brilliant on tour, rock n roll stories and sometimes just life in general too!!

She will always be remembered and deeply missed by us all. ❤️
