To go along with the theme of today’s Barbel Video… here is a photo of my Dad with a Barbel caught out of the River Dane. He is a similar age to I am now in this picture (30+ years ago). Safe to say he aged better than I have 😂 Merry Christmas everyone

If you have been following me for a while you will know one of my main goals for this year was catching a Barbel out of the Ribble and I have been exploring stretches to find good Barbel swims. As you have probably guessed from this thumbnail I have achieved that goal. It was a dramatic session in tough conditions, well worth a watch. You all know I love a Christmas special. Video Launching Christmas Day at 6am! I also want to take this opportunity to wish everyone Merry Christmas hope everyone has a great time whatever they are doing.

Kicking off the winter season with a chub video! I have really got a bug for river fishing at the moment and had some cracking days over the last couple of weeks. After the lack of success (apart from eels) on the free stretch of the Ribble. I decided it was about time I tried a few new stretches of river. Today’s video is filmed on the ticked trout stretch in incredibly cold conditions ❄️ feeder fishing for anything that swims, as you will see from the video it was worth braving the cold

I don’t know why but catching a goldfish always seems to make my day! Some amazing colours on this one, it wouldn’t be out of place in someone’s koi pond. But I’m sure it’s much happier in a big lake like high heyes, another brilliant session on my pink wafters and cold water sweetcorn pellets

With the weather turning to sub zero temperatures last week I decided to break out the Glide setup and head out in search of some Grayling. What a day it turned out to be! Really enjoyable session with plenty of fish landed, the video is due to launch tomorrow, well worth a watch 🎬🎣❄️

Day 6 of the rod race has just launched 🚀 I only have a handful of species remaining on the list and the ones left are difficult to target! This video should highlight the effort I’m putting into getting the last few species on the bank, I probably drove the best part of 120 miles that day and visited 3 venues 😂😂 I must be mental ! Enjoy the video

Looking forward to next year when the trout season opens back up, getting out and targeting trout on the centrepin ! I have had a couple of sessions on the glide setup now and it’s a dream to use, the pin is smooth and allows really fine tuned setup. While the rod is light and the 12-14ft allows the flexibility to fish rivers big and small.

Really excited to launch this video tonight! When it comes to fishing sometimes you start to question your methods and tactics when targeting certain species especially with the criticism that comes from YouTube and social media, however this video proves hands down my tactics and methods are spot on, trust your own knowledge and experience. There is more than one way to skin a cat (excuse the pun) Head over to YouTube to check out the video this evening. Beautiful but chilly morning out on the river today ! Wanted to keep my new Eva Bait station clean but it’s not going to happen in all the mud 😂 going to pick up another one to store my solid pva bags I think. Great bit of kit! feeding particles, Groundbait and elips pellets in the feeder with maggots on the hook. slow start so far but hoping the fish come on the feed with the change in tide **p
