INTRODUCING GNOME !

Back in 2018, in Antwerp, Belgium, the band Gnome released their first album. Named “Father of Time”, this is an honest exploration of music and a band looking to find their sound. This instrumental album ( apart from the title track) spouted the general ethos and goal of the band. Inadvertently also creating a new subgenre, “bubble grunge”. The riffs are cool, containing the requisite dirt and crunch this type of music requires.

Moving onto 2022, Gnome released the album “King”, and this is where I found them. In fact, it was due to one of their tongue in cheek humorous videos for the single “Wenceslas” Gnomes hooks became implanted into my soul. With more of the tracks from this album containing vocal performances from Rutger Verbist. The riffs are heavy once more, with sharp hooks carried on a groovy guitary theme.
This infectious album brought more live exposure to this band, including several Desert Festival appearances. The silly lyrics and storytelling set Gnome apart from the traditional Black Sabbath worship doom/stoner music of their peers. The funky bass from Geoffrey Verhulst finds a comfortable home here.

Vistiges of Verumex Visidrome was released in late 2024 and found the single “Old Soul” being its lead single. The music on this whole album is as groovy and hooky as the early material, the fun side of the band has not disappeared either. High-quality tunes force their way into your life while Egon Loosevelt pummels the drum kit with precision and power. There is no weak link to this band in my opinion, from the attitude of the band, joyful songs and entertaining videos, Gnome's music just makes me feel good.
