Introducing Ella! Some of you keen eyed content enjoyers may have noticed a shift in our flyers, videos and image over the past 6-months or so. We thought it was long overdue we introduced you to our designer, videographer and person-all-things-visual

“Hello! I’ve had the pleasure of developing Steam’s visual identity since the relaunch. It was a great challenge to design a system that is both diy/wonky/steamy and coherent! I love playing with texture and making my own type, so I’m very pleased the team was on board with these elements. If you make great things (music/food/art/events…) and would like some help with graphics and identity, get in touch! I also love capturing events on camera and making videos that capture the spirit. The best thing about freelancing is dipping into lots of projects and seeing people make wonderful things happen.”

Swipe to take a look at some of Ella’s work, plus some photos taken by her from our most recent party.

We're kicking off today with the Mixed Signals and Alright Break It Up crews warming up your wintry Saturday morning, before the One6Wave crew jump on with a special 2hr cypher live from the studio.

The show spotlights music from across the Black diaspora while centring Manchester’s underground, and features an exclusive cypher with artists from South Manchester who have worked and recorded at the one6wave studio, alongside selections highlighting emerging talent from across the city. Not one to miss!

And we've got OG OR Man wrapping up the day from 4-6:

"R.I.P. Renee Good. Well, what do you call it when armed and masked goons come into your city and start shooting unarmed citizens? It isn’t peace, is it? This week’s show does its best to strike a (manic) balance between cheerful vibes and outright fu***ng fury, featuring, inter alia: classic Americana (the GOOD Americana, yeah?), new stuff from Manchester, San Francisco, New York and, er Middlewich, punk, post punk, pre-punk funk, soothing ambient electronica, abrasive industrial pop and a clenched fistful of my favourites from last year.

And loads of blazing polemic (as you’d expect) from Sinead O’Connor."

Loads of great stuff today, tune in at www.steam-mcr.com
