We're looking for a DOP to work on our first feature, the super dark psychological horror film Cara. Ideally you'll be in the Greater Manchester area and be wildly creative. Your input will colour the entire process of forming the look for Cara. This isn't a rock up and shoot opportunity, we want you to be part of the BOP family.

Provisional shooting dates are the 1st - 12th May. This is a paid position. Please e-mail [email protected] with your contact info and links to your work along with any relevant info you might think we need to know.

BOP is a new production company, we've produced four short films in just over a year with our last one (Uncle Jack starring Bruce Jones) coming to an end of post-production. We are committed to two features with another to be added.

We're delighted to announce the first additions to come aboard for Cara. Including "OUR CARA" Elle O'Hara who you are going to be hearing a LOT more from in the future. Joining Elle are Michaela Longden, James Dreyfus, and Laurence R Harvey. We can't wait to start shooting in May.

It's all go! We're just heading towards the last stages of post production for Uncle Jack and whilst it isn't going for a wide release (mostly just festivals for reasons we'll hopefully make clear soon) we will be having a Cast, Crew, Friends and Family screening. Possibly more than one.

What else is going on? Well, the script for our first feature is coming along and it's DARK! More details of that possibly before Christmas. We're also working on a documentary and a music video. Busy busy busy!

At some point we'll also be updating our website to make it easier for talent and crew to put themselves forward for roles/positions.

Looking through the first rough edit before colour grading really gets going and noticed Stephen isn't the only familiar face in Uncle Jack. Looks like our friend James Dreyfus gets a look in as well!

Hayden delivered the first rough cut of Uncle Jack today and all we can say is WOW! There's still a long way to go but we're getting very excited about our latest little film.

Post production on Uncle Jack is now well underway. There's lots more coming though, early next year Black Octopus Productions is going to take a serious turn towards the darker side of things with our first feature length film.

We've got a LOT to be getting on with including some work on the website to make it a little more functional for actors and crew looking to work with us in the future.

Our first feature is provisionally slated to begin shooting at some time in early Q2 of 2023 but we've got so much going on before then. We'll keep you all in the loop.
