We write this as the police are on scene for a crash behind us at that part of the junction and the remnants of a Fiat remain at this part of the junction at the bottom of Palatine Road. How much longer before someone is seriously hurt at what is one of the most dangerous crossings in the UK?

Royle Green Road traffic crossing currently being repaired. No statement or information released by GMP Wythenshawe on the driver of the Toyota that ploughed into them on Tuesday night.

Another serious collision in Northenden. This on Royle Green Road. Reports are of a speeding car but GMP Wythenshawe are yet to issue a statement. No news either on clean up plans. The lights are still ‘live’, there’s still lots of visible debris and children crossing for school today have done so without the extra help.

This years Northenden Boat Race will take place at 1pm from Simons Bridge to The Tatton Arms Bridge. On Sunday 27th of August.
The race has two categories, inflatable dinghy and inflatable canoe. Please come along on the day at 12pm and sign up. It is £10 per boat. All proceeds go to The Christie. If you would like to have an advertisement in the boat race programme can you email [email protected] if you would like to have a stall on the village green on the day of the boat race please get in touch with this page.

24-year-old Luke Pollitt fined £200 for twice taking his van to the path by Kenworthy Woods and twice fly tipping in August 2021.

"On Thursday, June 15, 2023, Pollitt appeared again at Manchester Magistrates’ Court and was sentenced to a 12-month community order, with a mandatory 15 days of rehabilitation activity, as well as being fined £200.

"He was also fined £50 for a bail act offence, after failing to appear at an earlier sentencing appearing scheduled for April, 2023."

You will need an inflatable dinghy or canoe and must have life jackets to take part
The car parks were so full last year that if anyone can get a lift down or walk to ensure we can fit everyone in, and cars can then be parked at the tattoo bridge end close to the finish line!

Meeting point: Didsbury Golf Club Visitors Car Park
Registration: 12 noon. Race starts at 1pm
Price: £5 per person. £10 per boat. Two people per boat (inflatable dinghy or inflatable canoe)
The boat race is from Simon’s Bridge, Didsbury to Tatton Arms Bridge, Northenden.
