Did you know that 31% of people in the UK do their festive shopping exclusively online (🙋‍♀️much to my husbands dismay, he loves Xmas shopping IRL, can’t relate) and many jump straight onto their devices on Christmas Day to grab deals or spend gift cards? Plus, the average person in the UK spends nearly two hours scrolling social media daily, even during the festive period. I’d argue this could double in that Betwixtmas ‘what day even is it’ time! 🎄 .

For your business or personal brand, this is a golden opportunity to connect with your audience when they’re relaxed, browsing, and ready to engage 🤳

You know me, I’m not a massive scheduler generally but when it comes to the festive period I think it’s really important to have a presence online (it’s such a scroll heavy time that lots of brands neglect!) but also be able to enjoy important activities such as the Sabrina Carpenter Netflix Special and excessive chocolate orange consumption 🍫📹

Get them interested before they’re invested 👏

I scream and scream the value of building curiosity and connection before asking for a commitment from your ideal client or follower. Share value, tell your story, and engage with your audience authentically. This can be in the form of day to day behind the scenes, sharing your career path, meeting your audience wherever they are online in terms of memes, pop culture or trends.

“Some of the hardest things you can do, you don’t get medals for” I’m still trying to get my head around how inspirational it was to hear Stacey speak at a this weeks event. From cutting her hair short as a child in order to pass as a boy to be able to play football 🤯 to questioning the injustices around women’s boxing following her winning the Commonwealth Title in Zimbabwe 🤯🤯 she is a POWERHOUSE in the truest sense of the word. I could write an essay but if you have a moment to read up on Stacey’s monumental career, tell your sons and daughters about her journey and find out more about her charity then please, please do! Thank you so much and for another gorgeous event! Here’s why you shouldn’t 👇 First things first - because I EARNED my place in that queue and if you weren’t gonna go, I WOULD HAVE! 😅😨 👉 there will be other people who feel this way, there might be negative backlash and the kind of brand awareness you don’t want. 👉 you’ll get entries, engagement and following from people who aren’t your ideal follower or client, messing up your reach. These followers wont stick around once the competition is over and if they do they’re not going to interact. 👉 IS IT EVEN RELEVANT TO YOUR BUSINESS? I mean if you’re selling parkas, mod hair cuts and Burnage sightseeing tours then maybe, but otherwise it’s very broad and not going to improve anything business-wise in the long run. *saying this as I enter them ALL*
