Matthew Devenish is just back from mixing the legendary Gary Clail Sound System featuring Tony Wrafter at Shambala festival. A tidy D&B line array with Soundcape surround and an A&H D live console.
For those of you that know your Dub/Dance music Gary was on Top of the Pop’s in the early 90’s. He is still telling it as it is. Good show lovely playing of trumpet, flute and Sax from Tony Dubbed out by Matthew.

Time for some preventative maintenance on my mark 1 Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. There are some real problems with component placement in this amp. The low voltage power resistors get mega hot and start to char the board. I have caught this one in time. Might as well recap it while I’m in here. It is nearly thirty years old. Also need to change the plate resistors on the phase splitter valve. He no work. Will be better than new when finished. I hope.

A few snapshots of a great weekend at the Acoustic Roots Stage at Upton Blues Festival. Three days of world class performances and fantastic audiences who listened to every note played. Thanks to Trevor Babajack Steger and his wife Emma who once again picked some amazing artists to play on the stage. MuMu Audio provided all the sound equipment and everyone seemed happy with the setup. Some 18 inch subs with our Hipo boxes on mid top duty. Some fills to get the sound down the church and a Digico SD9 on FOH duties. Monitors mixed on the Digico IPad app. Kling and Freitag wedges on stage. Lab Gruppen amps and Lake LM 26 driving them. See you next year with a bit of luck.

Another successful sellout performance by Juan Martin promoted by Versatile Arts and Mu-Mu Audio. As can be seen running one of our small acoustic focussed rigs, with Lake Control, Allen & Heath Qu16, and Lab Gruppen and Kling & Freitag Monitoring, microphones by Schoeps and Shure. Lots of compliments about natural and good the sound was with of course great playing by Juan.
