Shooting for our friends over at Buttasideup here is a short glimpse behind the senes from our product shoot with high end audio equipment manufacturer KEF.
Earlier on in the year we were commissioned by Commotion to produce some short product videos for their range of children’s toys.
As many of the products were fairly small in size we wanted to capture a unique perspective, one almost of a child’s imagination. For this we turned to our laowa probe lens.
Its design allows you to get up close and personal with your subject, but unlike a conventional macro it provides a wide angle of view and it can fit through things!
Being wide angle means you can keep almost all of the subjects in your shot in focus, but this requires a large aperture range. At it’s very brightest it is F14! which for those none camera people means at F14 on a conventional lens would be almost totally closed and pitch black.
As a result of this you need an incredible amount of light in your scene for the shots to be useable.
Here is a behind the scenes peak at how we filmed the shots with around 6 to 7 very powerful video lights.

Since having our crew van here at Copper Tree Media Ltd it is hard to remember why we struggled with a car, given the amount of kit we have! It also comes in handy for shots like these...

Behind The Scenes With Our Video Team. Tyre Blow out on M25!!
The key ingredient to every video shoot is to plan, plan, plan, and then expect the unexpected. On our recent shoot for Bell Group we decided to capture a behind the scenes look of what goes on during one of our shoots.
Unfortunately, the beginning of the job did not start as we would have hoped. 1 hour into our 5-hour drive we lost pressure in our right rear tyre. Thanks to lack of hard shoulder on the M25 for quite some miles, we had to continue on and totally shredded it!
Clients often ask why we allow time before the shoot, travel the day before, and or book hotels, this is exactly why! Not to mention all the preparation of kit required for a 3-day shoot.

As the 2018 Leeds Castle classical concert approaches here's a look back at an excerpt from one of several short films we produced for Brachers LLP who sponsored the concert.
Here is a short video we produced for Flanders Fields 14-18 at Bedford House Cemetery, Ypres.
Located in Zillebeke, directly behind the Western Front, made this area a useful site for divisional headquarters and field ambulance stations. Château Rosendal, a large house with a moat and extensive gardens was put to this use. The British forces in the area named the château "Bedford House" or "Woodcote House" with the former becoming the official name used for the post-war cemetery.
Whilst the area remained in Allied hands through the war, it was devastated by shell fire and the château was destroyed over the course of the war, being hit by German shells, as well as 500 gas shells in just one day of the Third Battle of Ypres. #wewillrememberthem
