Congratulations to Graham Scallan on taking his new role as Chairman of the Rallies Commission for Motorsport Ireland!

Motorsport Ireland is pleased to announce the appointment of Graham Scallan as the new Chairman of the Rallies Commission, bringing a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the role.

Graham is eager to collaborate with clubs, organisers, and competitors to further develop and enhance rallying in Ireland.

In his first statement as Chair, Graham acknowledged the intense pace and demands of the sport in recent years. “Irish rallying has been moving at an incredible pace, with commissions working at maximum capacity to keep up,” he said.

He highlighted the importance of stabilising the sport by executing current initiatives to the highest standards while identifying areas for improvement.

Looking ahead, Graham expressed his enthusiasm for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, while also calling for the support of the rallying community. “I am excited about the future of Irish rallying. My primary goal is to support and strengthen the sport, ensuring that we work together to enhance the overall experience for clubs, organisers, and competitors. We respectfully ask for your patience and support as we embark on our mission. We believe we can deliver tangible results that are transparent for all within the sport. We welcome any questions, ideas, or concerns and are eager to hear your input.”

Graham also extended his gratitude to the members of the Rallies Commission for 2025, recognising the strength of the team. “We have a great mix of 90% competitors and organisers, which is a significant step toward achieving a balanced approach that benefits everyone involved. I want to sincerely thank all those who have come on board to help shape the future of Irish rallying.”

As Chairman of the Rallies Commission, Graham is committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence within Irish rallying.

Apologies to everyone trying to reach us today!
We have been badly hit by the storm which has left us with no power, no internet, and no phone signal. We have trees down and vehicles damaged but thankfully everyone is Ok.

Power temporarily restored via generators and our Starlinks came in handy to give us an internet connection, but we are currently limited to wifi only.

So best ways to get in touch at the moment is via apps like Facebook and Whattsapp etc. any emails and private messages will be answered as soon as possible but please be patient as we work to try and restore everything back to normal.

So sorry to hear of Conor’s passing!
It was only a few weeks ago I was talking to him in the service area. Such a lovely man and long time supporter of what we do. He will be greatly missed!

THE DOGLEAP IS BACK! ! ! ! ! PLEASE SHARE!

Entries will open soon for the Premier Car Parts Dogleap Forestry Rally on the 19th Oct 2024
Thanks to Paul Hone of Premier Car Parts, we're delighted to have you on board as title sponsor!

We've been working hard behind the scenes to revive the Dogleap rally.
Our team selected 2 iconic stages, Cam and Springwell, which will both be run 3 times.
We're very excited to return to the forests again after nearly 15 years.
We will provide nearly 40 miles of legendary stages for £595.

Spread the word, and get your entries in early.
It's been a struggle of a lot of clubs running forestry events here and across the water, a few being cancelled due to lack of entries and rising costs, after the clubs put in a massive amount of work to run it for the competitors.

We need a good entry for this rally to revive it and also sustain the future of the event.
People have been asking us for years to return to the forest, this is an opportunity for the younger competitors to give these stages a go for the first time, and a chance for those who loved it in the past, to give it another go.

More details to follow, but let's get the word out there and give it a share for us.

A wee glimpse of our control room from last weekend in the background. A very well done to the safety team last weekend for a long 4-5 days of hard work at the Donegal International Rally in setting up, managing, and then dismantling everything again. Donegal Motor Club, Motorsport Ireland, and SVS Productions provided the combined facilities.

The Donegal International Rally is in full swing and a wide range of agencies are working together to ensure that the event runs smoothly.

Chief Superintendent Goretti Sheridan was delighted to meet Rosemary Walsh, Chairperson of the Women in Motorsport Ireland Commission in the Inter-Agency control room yesterday. A discussion took place between them surrounding the topics of diversity and inclusion and ideas on how best to promote road safety/motorsports among women were exchanged. The thinking caps will certainly be on for promotional events for Rally 2025! If anybody has any good suggestions then please do not be afraid to let us know! 🚺🏁

So shocked and saddened to hear this terrible news. She was a great friend and supporter, and will be greatly missed. Another great soul taken far too soon. Sending our heart felt condolences to all her family and friends at this very sad time. We will very much miss her quick wit and fun loving personality.

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the MKII Challenge so it's going to be an event not to be missed .Thanks to everyone at the Carlowcarclub for making this happen. It's great to see the MKII Challenge still going strong 20 Years later!
