A couple of my cartoons appear in Darren Naish’s reaction to Brian J Ford’s 300-page silliness, Too Big To Walk.

In magazine articles, a BBC Radio 4 interview and the book Too Big To Walk, Brian Ford argued that the dinosaurs of the Mesozoic were not adapted for terrestrial life, but were aquatic. Bemusement ...

The what:

Working on a new illustration! With a painted wingspan of approx 24in, it's a little larger than my usual work. Pteranodon has a high aspect ratio, so one of my typical A3 pics would mean that the head and body would be tiny. I was fortunate enough to have been given a sheet of large line and wash board, so I'm going big!

The why:

The wonderful Wisbech & Fenland Museum, situated in my birthtown, had its £50k grant slashed by Fenland District Council. Wisbech Town Council is reducing their £20k grant by £2.5k annually over the next eight years to zero. My aim is to pruduce a series of palaeo-themed paintings to auction to help reduce their funding shortfall.

Sections of the were released in the newspaper in July 1993, which my grandmother saved for me.
Whilst the cover's looks like you'd expect, the rest of its appearances show it with its 'killing claws' on the third toe of each foot instead of the second. I presume this stems from the illustrator relying on the script, specifically where says, "like a razor on the middle toe".

Last autumn, and I set about publishing the fourth edition of 's , originally released in 1913. Ours was the first time it had been published in its entirety since its first edition, and we even managed to dig up a few unpublished illustrations and poems. In addition, the author's grandson penned a lovely foreword to complement the new biography. In return, we snuck an Easter egg into the book's title typeface: the bird hidden in the G is a motif found throughout James Campbell's pottery designs.
