Solent Soul was launched in March 2023 by New Forest based Dj’s, John & Sj, who hold local events for those loving their Soul music, (Motown, Disco, Funk, Northern Soul, Stax & Atlantic).
Whether dancing, socialising or simply listening to these iconic sounds, our 'Soul-ees’ are a very friendly mixture of groups, couples and those ‘flying solo’; all are made to feel most welcome and free to ‘do their thing’ - often making new friends by the end of each evening!

S-j & I had an absolute blast yesterday at the Cliff Top Music Festival. We would like to thank you for braving the weather and dancing to our records in the rain. We would also like to congratulate the wonderfully talented, friendly artists for bringing some well needed cheer to what turned out to be a 'Lovely Day'!

Retro Grooves don't just play great music!
Last night we were honoured to be asked to supply the soundtrack to Sally & Melvin's wedding reception.
They loved the idea of having records played, and their guests danced the night away to the retro sounds of the 60s, 70s & 80s!
And as a token gesture on our part, we presented the bride and groom the record played for their first dance by The Drifters.
