Our Financial Planning workshop will equip the attendees with the skills to set and effectively work on financial goals. Below are the details of the workshop.

We recently ran sessions for the residents of the communities that are experiencing crimes especially violent crimes in Bedford, Luton and surrounding areas. The attendees and ourselves explored how to engage people away from criminality, review ways to reduce crimes especially violent crimes and as a community support offender to be integrated back into the community.

We are starting back the Creative Youth Hub this Wednesday.

The first session is free, if its your first time.

Creating a space, where children and young people can come and make friends, be safe and develop skills for jobs in the creative sector.

These film making workshops will be led by a professional film maker who has over 10 years' experience supporting children and young people.

These sessions will run every Wednesday at 4pm until 5.30pm, at Farley Community Centre.

At the introductory price of only £5, we can provide sibling discounts.

The young people were given the challenge to create a film around a particular theme.

They chose determination.

We discussed why it’s important to be determine in life. Ways that successful people such as James Dyson and J.K Rowling had to show determination.

During this session they planned their own film to show the importance of having determination in life.

They drew a shot list, decided on roles and started to film. Looking forward to next week .

It is time for Luton residents to be part of the solution

Tomorrow and Saturday, Developwise CIC will be running sessions for the residents of the communities that are experiencing crimes especially violent crimes in Luton and surrounding areas. Together, we will explore how to engage people away from criminality, review ways to reduce crimes especially violent crimes and as a community support offenders to be integrated back into the community. There will be a particular focus on young people.

Date and Times: Thursday 21 March 2024 from 5.30 pm till 8.30 pm, then Saturday 23 March 2024 1 pm till 4 pm.

After a number of practise sessions, yesterday was the first Bedfordshire Against Crime Community Focus Group

Local people attend and were part of the solution.

We were joined by Festus Akinbusoye the Police & Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire.

We explored how to engage people especially young people away from criminality, review ways to reduce crimes especially violent crimes and as a community support offenders to be integrated back into the community.

The emerging theme were parents education, parents involvement in the solution, connecting young people with role models their age and the effective use of social media.

We were absolutely amazed.... At the amount of detail and how the young people were able to share their ideas so well. They highlighted three areas outside Farley Community Centre that wanted to see changed. The young people are currently working on a environmental project, where they are looking at their local area and sharing what they would like to see changed. They created three A3 Mood boards to show their ideas in a visual way. Each mood board covered a different area. These area were. 1. New green space to be improved with tables, chairs and new plants. 2. New playground area with new equipment. 3. Two new murals to replace the old one.
