Clod Magazine & Books

Clod Magazine & Books Clod Magazine began in 1987. We're closing in on FORTY editions. We did, however, take seven gap years, consecutively. (No-one noticed).

News from the stock-room supervisor at “Clod Magazine & Books” is encouraging;
- with 32 copies of our early ‘treasury’ now in readers’ hands throughout the modern world, it means that we are down to a pitiful 19 available copies.
If you know someone who might benefit from a 600 page full-colour glossy A4 compendium of early Clod issues that weighs 2.465kg, please forward them this link.

THANK YOU!

What many publishers won’t tell you is how useful a floor can be as part of the process that determines the best order for the pages of a new publication.

Here at one of the Clod office suites, pages are being laid flat and moved around by hand to complete the 2nd Clod “Adult Colouring Book”.

No release date yet, but it’ll be at the printers within the week!

Hi!
I have just been reflecting on my skill-set at “CLOD Magazine” and thought I’d share with you tonight! Yes!
J.Hackson (co-editor)

SKILLS:

Goal-levelling professional, well-versed in losing things, re-recruiting, untraining and sidling up to employees to quietly suggest exceptional services to the public and their misrepresentative institutions. Highly organised and soft-working with excellent planning and avoidance skills. No longer contracted by NHS England and disproven to have ever delivered an exemplary level (not my words) of service delivery to people met by chance whilst planning and implementing debunked strategies for developing over-proved healthcare management. Re-proven problem juggler and excellent communicator when it comes to yelling hard, with strong bread and butter skills, a superb understanding of data farming, performing metrics and company financials. Negotiating release and half-baking commercial property acquisitions from plodding to motionless service delivery. Nationally recognised for staff development, internationally recognised in photographic line-ups, leading to high performing sentence-shortening, sometimes on the winning team. Organised and dependable, in a manner of speaking, successful at managing multiple priorities, (one at a time thanks), with an attitude. Willingness to take off responsibilities to alter team and business development goals. Experienced businessed leader offering mediocre skills in mediocre sales, mediocre customer service, mediocre contract management, mediocre procurement, average team building with middling communication and sullied etiquette to redeliver long-extinguished targets. 🙂🙂🙂

Being at a loss for words at the time, Clod Magazine issue 19 was a word-free edition, containing 50 pages of collages which utilised found and filthy scraps of street material. I collected them all.

Our stall at this year’s Small Publishers’ Fair at Conway Hall, gives Clod readers/viewers the chance to purchase the original page art work for that edition.

Following the 2009 exhibition of all 50 pages at “The Last Gallery” in Llangadog, 42 of these collages remain.

Come along and flick through them. They won’t be dear; definitely no more than £15 each, possibly a little less.
All wrapped in a protective sleeve, and stiffened by a bit of card.

Hope to see you there.
