Soul Partizan Radio Roadshow: Now Iam not the one who usually makes a fuss of things but what a F.....g day Lol. The last few years have been quite a turbulent time. Its coming up to four years soon since my mom died. I always dread that day & to be totally honest i realised how much her loss effected me. Yeah we had stupid Brexit & a few years of madness with Covid, but i have to say losing Gwendolyn broke me!!
But Today I felt a crazy spirit of her looking over me!!! & wow what an amazing day i had. First of all after near four years!!! i finally got my s**t out of storage which was based in Hasting (too bloody expensive to store in London)
Huge big ups to my brother from another mother Allan Francis who took time out, persevered with helping loading all my stuff then drove to London with me, unloaded then left to return the van back in Hastings for 8am tomorrow. It took us 9 hours in total but i can not thank him enough
Anyway once I finally got my shoes off and feet up I tuned into TALKSPORT only the hear a live commentary of the League Two play offs between the mighty Port Vale v Swindon, with the winners getting the chance to bask in glory and play Mansfield in the final at the end of the month
Now you have to understand my parents house is literally two minutes from the Vale ground. It was the first place I was allowed to watch games with my brothers when I was a wee lad (lol). Also being Black I heard some not to healthy language from the home supporters, especially with those who were playing for Vale!!, so you could understand my Moms worries sometimes.
My mom though loved it when it was home games. She always watched the supporters head up to the ground from our garden gate, before the match, helping out away fans where to park even selling some food from her little greenhouse my Dad built for her. Amazing times, fun times!
By the way VALE won on Penalties!!! We are on the way to Wembley. Iam sure my mom will be up there with that "naughty" smile she use to pull

Back from the States after another amazing experience. Finally, gonna have some quality chill out time. Decided to get out of London and head to the “Middle ground”, The Midlands to see my family and friends. It's been a while since I last visited, so was totally looking forward to it.
While travelling I was inspired by an article by Matt Anniss ( Redbull Academy) who talked about All Dayer events that were huge in the North west & The Midlands during the late 80s.
This got me thinking about the joyous days of partying as a youngster at venues: Rock City based in Nottingham & The Place, my hometown venue based in Stoke, both situated next to the river Trent
So that was that, this month's show was going to be a tribute to the All Dayer's & All Nighter’s that changed the face of UK clubbing for ever

Soul Partizan Radio Roadshow Detroit (USA) Day Four: Just reaching back from a hypnotic set from Legends: & Scott
Norm: One of the foundation DJs of Detroit’s deep house scene, since 1982 Norm Talley helped to establish and cement the deep end of Detroit’s dance culture. An early understudy of deceased legend Ken Collier, Norm also early associated closely with Delano Smith, a bond that stands the test of time. Detroit’s house scene was slow to receive wider recognition, but this funky underbelly thrived throughout the ‘80s and helped birth later developments, techno included. Dubbed ‘progressive’ at the time, the fusion of P-Funk, Motown, soul, disco, electronic music like Kraftwerk, industrial and synth pop, and New Wave had, by the early 90s, separated into various distinct threads, the nascent house community amongst them.
Patrice Scott’s roots in the Detroit music scene go a long way back. At the age of just 11 he lived down the road from early DJ group Direct Drive and it was at these block parties that Scott decided that this is what he wanted to do. That his inspiration should be so deeply rooted in live music and the dance floor environment makes sense – he has become known as one of the most innovative and dynamic club DJs from the Motor City with his own deep and textured house & techno sound.
