This year, Independent music production hub, RED PRODUCERS collaborated with our Music Production Lecturer, Jason O'Bryan for a chat at MeetUP 65 - a MUSIC LAB conference dedicated to #creativeteamwork.
RED PRODUCERS provides services such as delivering music to artists, publishers, TV stations and other media. During the conference, RED PRODUCERS conducted short interviews with famous producers, filmmakers and educators to discuss the problems and challenges in the new era of music collaboration.
Jason spoke with RED PRODUCERS about creative teamwork and his great tips for getting started in the music industry!

In Term 2, our students get access to Studio Two. This includes access to industry-standard equipment, such as Neumann mics, B&W speakers, the SSL Origin desk and plenty more!🎙️
In July Music Production student Marcela booked studio time with rising grunge, nu-metal five-piece Matted for a recording session of their forthcoming single “GASLIGHT.” We spent two days documenting what these sessions entailed!

The Global Z Recording Project: Frederick Circle of Musical Unity
In recent news, we collaborated with The Global Z Recording Project for a brand-new campaign titled ‘Frederick Circle of Musical Unity.'
For the project, three of our alumni produced a track in Angel Two, that was originally written, performed and recorded by students/musicians in Maryland in the US.
The project is an educational virtual audio/video production experience and features Music Production alumni: Raquel Saggin, Seth Bateman and Cuco Errezuriz as producers and audio engineers.

“ENTRY PLUG” by MEGAN VALENTINE
Today sees the release of "ENTRY PLUG," an alt-rock song by emerging pop-punk project MEGAN VALENTINE. The band consists of our Student Admissions Administrator and guitarist, Tomas Miller-Cheaves, alongside frontwoman Megan Valentine, bassist Aris Nikoleris and Tasos Kastanis on drums.
The track is shared as the first taste of their sophomore EP ‘HIKARI” which is currently in production. The video brings to life a world inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion and Final Fantasy IIV.
Shot in Athens, Greece between Hellenic Containers S.A and Escapepolis Athens, in the video the band tease you with themes of escapism through captivating visuals directed by Panagiotis Kountouras.

Last night, we headed to the Fox on the Green in Islington for a special Final Listening Session! 🎵🎶🎵
In celebration of their studies with us, Music Production course leader, Carlos Lellis, led a fun Final Listening Session for our Music Production students in the June 2023 intake.
He played some of the students' live lounge covers and original songs. It was a lovely evening full of music spent with classmates, friends, family and staff.

We’re back with another fun live recording session in the style of BBC Radio One’s Live Lounge sessions.
Acclaimed BBC Live Music Producer and sound engineer, Simone Lombardi, guided our Music Production students through the session at our Custom 75 studio at Abbey Road Studios.
The session featured a cover of Artemas's “I like the way you kiss me,” alongside an original single titled “Circle of the Sixth” by Marik.

One week of ‘Remixes Vol I’ by Jonnie Berlevy 🎵
On Friday 10th May, Music Production alumnus and talented Engineer, Mixer and Beatmaker, Jonnie Berlevy dropped a 4-track EP on Soundcloud.
Recorded entirely in his home studio, Jonnie mixed and mastered all of the beats himself and added acapella and remixes of Funky Cowboys, Busta Rhymes, Bahamadia and Life MC.
Describing the project in his own words, Jonnie tells us: “all beats contain three elements - my finger drumming, bass lines played on my synth and flipped samples for the melodies.”
