PRESS RELEASE
NEW FILM AIMS TO EXPOSE “SECRET CENSORSHIP WAR” ON PALESTINE

A new film aims to expose how a “secret censorship war” is suppressing what people are allowed to see and hear about events in Palestine.

The documentary is the work of Platform Films makers of “Oh Jeremy Corbyn - The Big Lie” which, its producer claims, was subject to extraordinary attempts to stop it from being screened in 2023, including being axed by the Glastonbury and the Tolpuddle Martyrs festivals.

Producer Norman Thomas said: “The main reason there were attempts to suppress our film was that it was about Jeremy Corbyn, and his support for the Palestinian cause. Our new film ‘Censoring Palestine’ will look at much wider efforts to suppress what we’re allowed to see and know about Palestine —in everything from mainstream and social media to the worlds of education, art and entertainment.”

Platform claims censorship relating to Palestine is on the increase.

Mr Thomas said: “In recent weeks we’ve seen a stand-up comic being cancelled for mentioning the name of Israel in a gag, paintings being dropped from an exhibition because their subject matter included Palestine and a university rector being dismissed after she made reference to genocidal attacks by Israel. But these are only a few cases which have hit the headlines — there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes.”

Mr Thomas said the new film will especially investigate “secret censorship.”

He said: “This is the worst kind of censorship— the things you don’t know you’re not being told, things which never get to the printed page, the screen or the stage.”

“We will also investigate how the censorship happens and who’s behind the censorship.”

Platform is inviting help from the general public in making the film.

Mr Thomas said: “We’re appealing to anyone who’s been stopped from speaking or writing about Palestine or have evidence of censorship in the mainstream or social media to get in touch. Email me on [email protected]. All information will be treated in confidence.”

The film will be released in October.

Platform Films
—STARMER’S “NIGHTMARE FILM” WILL PREMIERE THIS SUNDAY MORNING

Labour leader Keir Starmer’s “nightmare film” will be premiered online this Sunday morning.

The new documentary film shows Starmer backing Israel’s onslaught on Gaza and the huge and growing backlash against him among Muslims, left wing and younger voters.

Norman Thomas, producer of “Big Lie II - Starmer and the Genocide”, said: “Our film shows that the pro-Palestine protest movement has been much bigger and more influential than the political establishment has acknowledged. It must have a major impact on the polls — and many believe Keir Starmer is going to pay the price.”

The film, which will premiere on the “Not The Andrew Marr Show” via Zoom at 10.30am this Sunday 16 June, spotlights what Mr Thomas calls an “unprecedented political rebellion” taking place.

Mr Thomas said: “Hundreds of left-wing independent candidates are now standing for election, all united by support for the Palestinian cause. They will not admit it publicly but Labour is terrified by how this will affect their election results. Our film is Keir Starmer’s worst nightmare!”

The film also investigates the likelihood of confrontation and crisis to come. Mr Thomas added: “If Starmer does become prime minister he is almost certain to try to clamp down on protests — but I don’t think the protesters will back down.”

Contributors to the film include Jeremy Corbyn, former ANC member Andrew Feinstein who’s standing against Keir Starmer in Holborn and St Pancras, Workers Party leader George Galloway and leading direct action organiser Huda Amorri.

The film is from award-winning Platform Films makers of the documentary “Oh Jeremy Corbyn - the Big Lie” which was controversially banned by Glastonbury Festival last year. Platform has made films for Channel Four and the BBC,
