The Roehampton Poetry Centre takes its place at the forefront of the UK poetry scene, offering prizes, readings, masterclasses, research and exchange opportunities with significant figures in the poetry world. Led by Professor Fiona Sampson and chaired by Professor David Harsent, the Roehampton Poetry Centre is also the home of the international quarterly, POEM magazine. The Roehampton Poetry Cent

re will also run two new poetry prizes, the Roehampton Prize and the Ruskin Prize, to engage poets from across the UK. The Roehampton Prize is awarded to the best poetry book of the year written by a poet who, regardless of citizenship, is living and working in the UK. The judges, led by Professors Sampson and Harsent, are all distinguished poets with a real commitment to the wider field of poetry: each also works as a teacher, critic, translator or editor. The Ruskin Prize is an open competition, awarded to the best single poem entered via the Centre's online portal.
