“I just became infatuated by how other people talk about love and how other people experience love. It’s a messy thing!” ❤️ Musician and Laufey Book Club founder, Laufey · Official Music has been reading a lot of books about love while working on her forthcoming album ‘Bewitched’. #laufey #books
“I am definitely somebody who will buy a book and judge it by its cover!” 📖 We took musician and Laufey Book Club founder Laufey · Official Music for a browse at Artwords Bookshop, where she admitted to going against the first rule of book club 😬
Extolling the virtues of DJing as an art-form with @syreetamusic
CLASH and Pioneer DJ continue our ‘For The Love Of It’ series, spotlighting our favourite homegrown DJs through a series of curated shorts and mixes. Our focus shifts to DJ SYREETA who showcases her affinity for ‘high-tech house’ on the CDJ-3000’s, V10 mixer, and HDJ-X7 headphones.
The London-based DJ and producer came up finessing her craft on the East London circuit, shadowing and playing alongside the likes of Point G, Alex Arnout and Archie Hamilton, later sharing the same bills with Maya Jane Coles, Octa Octa and Berghain’s Freddy K.
SYREETA shares how DJing allows for the flow of self-expression and the one piece of advice that changed her outlook.
The spinner also hit the decks for an exclusive guest mix dropping this Friday.
Stay tuned…
CLASH continues its collaboration with VERO True Social spotlighting talent via their Amplify series, offering insight into the creative forces driving the next wave of homegrown performers.
Next up is the moody melancholia of @elizalovechild.
On new album ‘A Sky Without Stars’, ELIZA is inspired by post-apocalyptic news reels and our collective unwillingness to confront the reality of the environmental devastation we enable.
The album is a grainy exercise in inward-looking modern soul, cementing ELIZA’s place as a forerunner of progressive RnB. Contrary to the clickbait “UK RnB is dead” soundbite that goes viral every so often, ELIZA is proof that the independent scene is flourishing and eminently fruitful.
We're excited to unveil a special acoustic performance of album track ‘Abandon The Rule’, filmed at the Clash Studio.
Head over to @verotruesocial and revisit ELIZA’s Deep Dives 5 interview.

Join the conversation on @verotruesocial and stay tuned for an acoustic rendition of ‘Abandon The Rule’ dropping later this week…

Sharing secrets with @elizalovechild.
In the next instalment of the VERO Amplify series, we spotlight the minimalist RnB of the London singer-songwriter.
On new album ‘A Sky Without Stars’, ELIZA doubles down on the low-key romanticism she established on her last project, 'A Real Romantic', fleshing out her adult contemporary musings through a darker lens. Inspired by post-apocalyptic news reels and our collective unwillingness to confront the reality of the environmental devastation we enable, ‘A Sky Without Stars’ is a grainy exercise in inward-looking modern soul.
Contrary to the clickbait “UK RnB is dead” soundbite that goes viral every so often, ELIZA is proof that the the scene is flourishing and eminently fruitful.
Stay tuned for an exclusive stripped-back performance of her song ‘Abandon The Rule’ and a Deep Dives 5 interview dropping soon…

CLASH and Pioneer DJ continue our 'For The Love Of It' series documenting our favourite homegrown spinners. Thus far we’ve had an extensive and exciting range of talent share their stories and curate guest mixes, now the multifaceted DJ NICO is next up, spinning an eclectic fusion of genres in the studio, evoking the creative flair of his ‘Locked N Loaded’ mixes.
His NW London upbringing exposed him to a wide range of subcultures within music, reflected in his innovative mixes which house the sounds of hip-hop, afrobeat and RnB, alongside garage and grime. Currently a resident on Run The Riddim, NICO disseminates bangers from all over the UK underground scene. From performing in Croatia at Outlook Festival and We Out Here Festival with TROPICO, to supporting acts such as AJ Tracey and Big Zuu, DJ NICO’s high-octane mixes are a carefully-cultivated incubator for risers across the country.
In conversation, the multi-genre selector shares the creative spark that awakened his love for the artform, reflecting on his younger self and the advice he would pass down to other first-time DJ’s. At the studio, DJ NICO hit the decks for an exclusive mix that stays true to his musical stimuli.
Full interview and mix dropping Friday..
In the third instalment of the VERO Amplify series, the spotlight shifts to the lovelorn RnB of @raheaven
There’s a distinct charm to Rahel Yohannes’s universal approach to love and heartbreak, merging soulful melodies, earworm hooks and afro-percussive bounce into accessible soundbites. Heralded as one-to-watch by the likes of Carrie Stacks and Shygirl, Raheaven edges closer to the pop mainstage.
Stay tuned for an exclusive stripped-back performance of Reheaven’s current single ‘BETTER’ and a Deep Dives 5 interview dropping soon…

In the second installment of the VERO True Social Amplify series, we head over to the Isle of Dogs to speak to punk-poet Hak Baker.
Featured as part of our Next Wave series back in 2018, Hak Baker’s ascent as an artist is rooted in authentically depicting the gritty underbelly of East London through songs that combine autobiographical tales with fantasy and folklore.
We’re excited to present a special performance of ‘Cop Car’ from current EP ‘Misled’ and you can listen back to our Deep Dives 5 interview with Hak over on our Vero feed now.
We're back with the next episode of Decoded. Filmed in-studio, each episode sees staff writer and host @shazzasherazi invite a CLASH co-signed artist into his confessional booth, dissecting their creative process through a thoughtful interrogation of influences, themes and iconography. Previously we probed releases by KAM-BU and George Riley, and now East London musician @hakbaker joins us on the sofa for a closer inspection of his project 'Misled'.
Released at the tail end of last year, 'Misled' captured the precarity of the moment. The EP's six tracks are marked by bracing autofiction with Baker taking us back to his come-up in the Isle of Dogs, coloured by decisions made by his younger, more impressionable self, moving to the present where the shockwaves of deprivation and loss still reverberate.
A project that reconciles his grime origins with unadorned folky acoustics and atmospherics, Baker centres the people left behind by the institutions meant to serve us. His is a hard-won survivor's tale.
Baker shared why 'Misled' is an acknowledgement of the community that moulded him, the taxing process of creating during the pandemic and the influences he leaned on to share his truth.
The full piece is now live at clashmusic.com, sit back and tune into the conversation...
