In Los Angeles 2099, Cora (Hunter Schafer) lived her entire life on the run, a chameleon forced to adopt numerous identities. To secure a stable future for her brother, she assumes one final identity and is forced to partner with Olwen (Michelle Yeoh), a Blade Runner who’s confronting the end of her life. The two are pulled into a widening conspiracy that poses an existential threat to a city that’s fighting to be reborn.

“Blade Runner 2099” is a live-action sequel to Blade Runner 2049 (2017), starring Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer. The series is currently in development at Amazon Studios, with a potential premiere on Prime in 2025.

This is the same series that Ridley Scott was originally supposed to direct; he is now listed only as an executive producer.

The prequel to “Rosemary’s Baby,” titled “Apartment 7A” and featuring Julia Garner under the direction of Natalie Erika James, will debut solely on Paramount+ just before Halloween.

Taking place in New York City in 1965, the movie delves into the events preceding the iconic horror film “Rosemary’s Baby,” shedding light on the sinister happenings in the apartment before Rosemary’s arrival. The plot centers on a young dancer, whose career faces a setback due to a severe injury, only to be enticed by a mysterious and influential older couple offering her a chance at stardom.

Spielberg decided to go back to his roots...!

Steven Spielberg is gearing up to return to the realm of science fiction, drawing on his track record of directing iconic films like Close Encounters, E.T., and War of the Worlds.

According to a report from Variety, Spielberg is embarking on a “UFO film based on his own idea.”

He’s said to be reuniting with screenwriter David Koepp, with whom he previously collaborated on 1993’s Jurassic Park. Spielberg hasn’t delved into a full-fledged UFO-themed film since Close Encounters of the Third Kind in 1977, a movie that solidified its place in pop culture as one of the most influential stories about extraterrestrial encounters.

Reportedly, Quentin Tarantino has scrapped plans for his 10th and final film, “The Movie Critic.” According to Deadline, a source close to Tarantino revealed he had a change of heart and will now rethink his last project.

Inspired by Tarantino’s teenage job loading p**n magazines, the film was set to star Brad Pitt. He said the film “is based on a guy who really lived but was never really famous, and he used to write movie reviews for a p**no rag … He was very rude, you know. He cursed. He used racial slurs. But his s**t was really funny. He was as rude as hell.”
“He wrote about mainstream movies and he was the second-string critic,” Tarantino later said, of his unnamed inspiration. “I think he was a very good critic. He was cynical as hell. His reviews were a cross between early Howard Stern and what Travis Bickle might be if he were a film critic.”

The film was supposed to be set in 1977 California, with the critic working for a fictional publication named The Popstar Pages.

Leonardo DiCaprio was slated to play Frank Sinatra, while Jennifer Lawrence would portray the singer’s second wife, actress Ava Gardner.

Martin Scorsese had been working on a Sinatra biopic since the 2000s, initially with John Travolta in mind for the lead role. Various writers were attached to the project, including Phil Alden Robinson and later Billy Ray. However, in 2017, Scorsese announced his departure from the project, citing disagreements with Sinatra’s estate, controlled by his daughter Tina.

At the time, Scorsese said his Sinatra film would feel like a combination of “GoodFellas” and “The Aviator.” The biopic nature of ‘Aviator’ and the heavily Italian-American setting of ‘Goodfellas’

Sinatra’s daughter, Tina, currently controls her father’s estate and hasn’t yet given her blessing to the film.

I decided to watch Ripley and was thoroughly impressed. I genuinely enjoy the unhurried rhythm and the depth of the characters. Zallian has crafted a rare gem: the film noir ambiance, almost tangible like an additional character, coupled with the deliberate absence of music in intense moments, which is a refreshing change. Moreover, the cinematography by Robert Elswit is unparalleled; it’s truly unlike anything I’ve seen in a TV series before.

Fun fact: Robert Elswit, who worked with Paul Thomas Anderson on six of his films and won an Oscar for Best Cinematography for ‘There Will Be Blood,’ is the mastermind behind the stunning visuals of this series. It’s no surprise I’m so captivated by it!

Elle Fanning and Timothée Chalamet are filming the Bob Dylan biopic, “A Complete Unknown,” in New York.

Fanning plays Sylvie Russo, a character inspired by Suze Rotolo, who dated Dylan in 1961. Suze was the muse behind several of Dylan’s songs, including “Boots of Spanish Leather,” “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right,” and “Tomorrow Is a Long Time.”

Kate Herron, who directed and executive produced Marvel’s Disney+ series “Loki,” is no stranger to video game adaptations; she is among the directors for the second season of HBO’s “The Last of Us.”

The project has not yet secured a studio, but Robbie’s LuckyChap has a multiyear feature film deal with Warner Bros.

Following the success of the ‘Barbie’ movie, produced by Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment, Margot Robbie seems like the ideal candidate to spearhead this project. What are your thoughts? Could she possibly have a role in the film, perhaps as a Sim?
