The two are pulled into a widening conspiracy that poses an existential threat to a city that’s fighting to be reborn.

“Blade Runner 2099” is a live-action sequel to Blade Runner 2049 (2017), starring Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer. The series is currently in development at Amazon Studios, with a potential premiere on Prime in 2025.

This is the same series that Ridley Scott was originally supposed to direct; he is now listed only as an executive producer.

Spielberg decided to go back to his roots...!

Steven Spielberg is gearing up to return to the realm of science fiction, drawing on his track record of directing iconic films like Close Encounters, E.T., and War of the Worlds.

According to a report from Variety, Spielberg is embarking on a “UFO film based on his own idea.”

He’s said to be reuniting with screenwriter David Koepp, with whom he previously collaborated on 1993’s Jurassic Park. Spielberg hasn’t delved into a full-fledged UFO-themed film since Close Encounters of the Third Kind in 1977, a movie that solidified its place in pop culture as one of the most influential stories about extraterrestrial encounters.

Reportedly, Quentin Tarantino has scrapped plans for his 10th and final film, “The Movie Critic.” According to Deadline, a source close to Tarantino revealed he had a change of heart and will now rethink his last project.

Inspired by Tarantino’s teenage job loading p**n magazines, the film was set to star Brad Pitt. He said the film “is based on a guy who really lived but was never really famous, and he used to write movie reviews for a p**no rag … He was very rude, you know. He cursed. He used racial slurs. But his s**t was really funny. He was as rude as hell.”
“He wrote about mainstream movies and he was the second-string critic,” Tarantino later said, of his unnamed inspiration. “I think he was a very good critic. He was cynical as hell. His reviews were a cross between early Howard Stern and what Travis Bickle might be if he were a film critic.”

The film was supposed to be set in 1977 California, with the critic working for a fictional publication named The Popstar Pages.

Leonardo DiCaprio was slated to play Frank Sinatra, while Jennifer Lawrence would portray the singer’s second wife, actress Ava Gardner.

Martin Scorsese had been working on a Sinatra biopic since the 2000s, initially with John Travolta in mind for the lead role. Various writers were attached to the project, including Phil Alden Robinson and later Billy Ray. However, in 2017, Scorsese announced his departure from the project, citing disagreements with Sinatra’s estate, controlled by his daughter Tina.

At the time, Scorsese said his Sinatra film would feel like a combination of “GoodFellas” and “The Aviator.” The biopic nature of ‘Aviator’ and the heavily Italian-American setting of ‘Goodfellas’

Sinatra’s daughter, Tina, currently controls her father’s estate and hasn’t yet given her blessing to the film.

I decided to watch Ripley and was thoroughly impressed. I genuinely enjoy the unhurried rhythm and the depth of the characters. Zallian has crafted a rare gem: the film noir ambiance, almost tangible like an additional character, coupled with the deliberate absence of music in intense moments, which is a refreshing change. Moreover, the cinematography by Robert Elswit is unparalleled; it’s truly unlike anything I’ve seen in a TV series before.

Fun fact: Robert Elswit, who worked with Paul Thomas Anderson on six of his films and won an Oscar for Best Cinematography for ‘There Will Be Blood,’ is the mastermind behind the stunning visuals of this series. It’s no surprise I’m so captivated by it!

Elle Fanning and Timothée Chalamet are filming the Bob Dylan biopic, “A Complete Unknown,” in New York.

Fanning plays Sylvie Russo, a character inspired by Suze Rotolo, who dated Dylan in 1961. Suze was the muse behind several of Dylan’s songs, including “Boots of Spanish Leather,” “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right,” and “Tomorrow Is a Long Time.”

Once again, the renowned production house A24 has placed its trust in Ari Aster to bring his creative visions to fruition. Having previously collaborated on successful projects like “Hereditary,” “Midsommar,” and “Beau Is Afraid,” Aster is set to tackle his latest venture, “Eddington.”

This original screenplay follows the journey of a small-town New Mexico sheriff with big dreams, set against the backdrop of a fictional copper mining town amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. As revealed by World of Reel, the plot unfolds as a couple finds themselves stranded near Eddington, initially welcomed with warmth only to discover the town’s sinister transformation as night descends.

During the promotion of his third film, “Beau Is Afraid” (2023), Aster hinted at “Eddington” being a Western film. He disclosed that he had contemplated making it his directorial debut for approximately five years before embarking on projects like “Hereditary” (2018) and “Midsommar” (2019).

It’s hardly surprising to discover that Noé found a kinship with ‘Euphoria.’ The series is highly stylized and provocative, mirroring the qualities often associated with Noé’s own films. In fact, it’s evident that ‘Euphoria’ drew inspiration from Noé’s work; one only needs to compare shots from the series with scenes from his films ‘Love’ and ‘Climax’ to see the similarities.

In his latest portrayal as the sinister Baron Vladimir Harkonnen in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, the actor endured upwards of eight hours a day in a makeup effects chair, completely naked.

Reflecting on the experience, Skarsgård stated: “It was painful, but it was worth it. We wanted him to be so well defined as an image that he made an imprint on people just by showing up on the screen. And that imprint should last throughout the film without having him show up all the time.”

This commitment to practical effects wasn’t new for Skarsgård, as he recounted his transformation into Bootstrap Bill for Pirates of the Caribbean. “I was the only one on set with real prosthetics on, everyone else on that ship showed up five minutes before we started shooting and had dots put on their face, and away they went,” he recalled. “I had been there for six hours [already]. But the thing is, I like it. I like to see the artists paint, if that makes sense.”

As Quentin Tarantino was leaving Japan after initial location scouting and securing the studios, he heard the all girl band "The 5,6,7,8's" playing over the store's speakers. He was so intrigued by the music that he asked a clerk who the band was. When he was told, Tarantino, who didn't have enough time to go to a music shop to get their CD, begged the clerk to sell him their copy. Quentin took the disc home, listened to it, and immediately signed the band to play during the "Showdown at the House of Blue Leaves" segment. During production, Sir Ridley Scott kept the use of computer-generated imagery (CGI) as low as possible; Scott recalled advice visual effects supervisor Douglas Trumbull gave him on the set of Blade Runner (1982): "If you can do it live, do it live", and also claimed that practical visual effects were more cost-effective than digital visual effects. Monster effects, like the Deacon and Hammerpede, were done practically as much as possible, with CGI only for complicated shots that couldn't be done for real.
