That’s why one of the undoubted standouts of our festival run to date has to be The Audience Award at Oscar-qualifying OFF - Odense International Film Festival in Denmark.
It is the strongest proof of @thestupidboyfilm ’s audience appeal so far. Here’s why:
- 1186 audience members watched The Stupid Boy
- 7 screenings of TSB in 7 days
- 158 more watched online
- Many many thousands of people attended the festival
- Every audience voted by text after every screening
- Out of all 123 films at the festival, TSB received the most votes!

THE STUPID BOY will make its SoCal Premiere at the 23rd Annual Newport Beach Film Festival, followed by Q&A with UK Writer/Director Phil Dunn.
Described by UK Film Review as “Emotional and tense. The heart-stopping finale will most likely leave the viewer stunned,” THE STUPID BOY is set in a London where there has been an increase in white supremacist terrorism. Michael is a neuro-diverse teenager who sees things differently, but two worlds dramatically collide when one day he encounters a man on a suicidal mission.
Fresh from the Oscar-Affiliated OFF - Odense International Film Festival in Denmark, where - out of 123 films - it was voted to receive the Audience Award by huge audience numbers, and also picked up the Youth Jury Award, this must-see short has begun its festival run with an impressive 4 awards from its first 3 festivals in competition to date.
The Stupid Boy will screen on Wednesday, October 19th at 8:00pm in TRIANGLE 2.
