For poet, storyteller and playwright, Nandi Jola, life is not a rehearsal – it's the real thing.
And since leaving her native South Africa to move to Northern Ireland, the gifted and rebellious artist has made her mark – when Nandi’s in the room you hear her before you see her!
With the help of National Lottery funding, she has empowered young people from marginalised backgrounds to tell their stories through the arts.
In the latest episode of The National Lottery’s award-winning Game Changers podcast, we’ll hear how Nandi’s work started with a vision to help women forced into trafficking and exploitation. By encouraging these women and so many others to recognise that they and their stories matter, Nandi has been able to help inspire so many through her workshops, theatre, and poetry.
We also hear from Ferdi from Ouchhh Studio who pioneered an incredible AI projection which used data painting from the brainwaves of Nandi and our six other Arts and Film Game Changers, as the basis of a UK-first projection onto the outside of the V&A in London.
