@mavericksabre has just re-recorded and released his own versions of his iconic first album “Lonely Are The Brave”, some of which he tracked right here at Crosstown. Massive respect to him for highlighting the potential pitfalls of making ends meet in the music industry. Despite the glossy exterior, artists who are given big advances for record deals often end up in arrears because of a lack of knowledge around contract law and recuperation of funds. Hopefully what this project represents will shine a light on the problem and offer up-and-coming musicians some sort of guide on how to navigate their first steps into the music industry. The record sounds absolutely incredible so go and check it out!!
A few weeks back we had @jorjasmith_ come through to record her powerful vocals on By Any Means - the lead single from @rocnation’s Reprise project - a collection of songs curated by the label, the proceeds from which will go into funding organisations that support victims of police brutality. A couple of months back we had the honour of recording @maladmz’s @outlookfestival Orchestra brass section. We used @extinctaudio ribbon mics for this one - what a sound!! Can’t wait to hear the recordings back at the 2000 year old Pula Amphitheatre tomorrow night!
