Nat, a young writer, reflects on a chaotic London evening spent catching up with his friend Harry. Replaying the night’s events from memories real and imagined, Nat tries to find a logic in Harry’s behaviour and in what happened afterwards.

Bloody good news: is having the world premiere at
🤘🏽🩸🙏🏼

What a great affirmation that it’s about a bloody time. Time to talk loudly about menstrual cycles, to celebrate bodies of women and other-identifying bodies who menstruate, dance on the remnants of the menstrual stigma, and to be in awe and curious about our cyclical nature 🌱🌀🩸

It takes a village, and I am so happy we are in this together ♥️🩸♥️ LET’s GO!

A special project to begin the year from : Portraits of Gary McKee AKA The Marathon Man. On the 1st January 2022, Gary ran a marathon before work. On the 2nd January he did the same thing again. On the 31st December 2022, he ran his 365th consecutive Marathon. 26.2 miles, every day, for a year. An unimaginable achievement. Gary (53) has raised over £1.3 million for charity. I watched a journalist ask Gary what the record meant to him, he said “Records are for DJ’s, I’m a fundraiser. It’s about what I’ve been able to do to help other people”. Despite an injury half way through the year, he averaged a time of 4 hours 3 minutes. Gary is the kind of person who doesn’t just run the London marathon, he runs 300 odd miles to the start line (from his home in West Cumbria) then runs it. He told me on some days he’d have to run after work, which would mean by the time he’d done the next days miles before his shift started, he’d have completed two marathons in less than 16 hours. His final run of the year was uploaded to Strava with the caption ‘Job done’, but somehow I don’t think he is. Such a privilege to spend time with Gary and his team this week. Inspired beyond words.

“I’ve had the privilege of meeting and spending time with Tony in Cape Town this week and got to make this portrait with him during some downtime. Tony grew up between Malawi and Zambia. He lost his Dad in combat when he was young. Tony’s Mum was uncertain about him joining the army, so he channeled his strength and focus into boxing, after he met someone in the gym from West Africa who saw his potential. In the last few years Tony has got into UFC. He told me he loves how people fighting one moment can talk about it and analyse it a moment later. “It’s a constructive, disciplined fighting. I find it peaceful.”
