BAD Studios is a collective of electronic music lovers based at a cosy, industry standard studio located in the heart of London’s Shepherd’s Bush. We offer a range of one-to-one DJ’ing and production courses for those who are looking to take their love for music to the next level. Our instructors are passionate, professional DJs and / or producers, who also run their own music labels, podcast stre

ams and organise their own electronic music events within and beyond the UK. Our spacious, professionally equipped studios are the perfect setting for both experienced DJs and those in training to practice and polish up skills, record podcasts and mixes or simply try out the latest equipment. The space and set-up is also suitable for streaming and video recording of your sets. You are welcome to bring up to three friends with you to keep you company.

You're fed up you can't find a London studio with vinyl decks to jam on?

Ahem. We may be able to help.

Word on the street is that it is hard for wax lovers out there to find a decent studio in London offering a vinyl deck set-up. A sad state of affairs if you are a lover of records without the cash to splash on a home set-up. All those beautiful records and nowhere to jam.

Well, we have got you.

As long-standing DJs, music lovers, and vinyl collectors, we get it. There is nothing quite like the buzz of record digging, the warmth and depth of analogue sound, a records’ silky smooth feel, the careful attention required to cue in each track. Arguably in fact, because of the tactile nature of vinyl mixing, your connection with music can become immensely more intimate. And in these fast-paced, digital-crazy times, this is something we are all for.

This is why here at BAD Studios in Shepherd's Bush, West London we are the proud owners of a pair of Technics 1210s, available to hire on request for just £12.50 per hour.

Alongside the turntables themselves, we provide cartridges and needles, taking away all of the faff so you can simply rock up with your records and get stuck into making some magic.

You can even request additional CDJs to extend your set-up, and we have a choice of mixers including the Pioneer DJM 900, 850, the new V10, or our Xone 96.

Our studios are spacious and acoustically treated - the perfect setting for DJs at any level to jam, record, or simply polish up on their vinyl skills. Our space is also suitable for streaming and video recording.

Nothing makes us happier than seeing our Technics 1210s stretch their legs. We cannot wait to welcome you (and your records of course!)

Whether you are completely new to production, are slowly mastering your skills but have hit a bit of a creativity/knowledge/skills wall, or you simply need guidance to complete your projects - be it mix down, improving arrangement, or processing sounds - we are here for you.

Our approach is to expand your knowledge so you can hone your skills and develop as a producer, and we have already guided hundreds on their journey.

Our production sessions are 1-2-1 with a professional, highly experienced instructor and take place either in person at our studio in Shepherd's Bush, West London, or online if you are based further afield.

A 2-hour session costs just £60 and we are open 7 days per week, 11 am to 11 pm London time!

How about parking the pressure to come up with a list of New Year's resolutions, and instead simply vowing to do more of the things that bring you joy, lightness, and happiness.

You know what we mean... the things that light a fire of excitement in your belly.

The things that make you feel like a child all over again.

The things that get you out of your head and into the moment - truly present in the now.

The things that challenge you and support your growth, but feel good along the way.

The things that deepen your connection to yourself, and to others.

The things that inspire the socks off of you.

After all, as they say, we are here for a good time, not a long time.

So go easy on yourself. Take off the pressure and simply vow to find what feels good for you, and do more of it.

Our hearts are broken.

On 24th December, the inspirational Maxi Jazz, "the sacred voice of Faithless" passed away in his sleep.

It is hard to put into words the profound impact Maxi and his beloved band had on the lives of so many people, including us. Their music, and his words, touched endless hearts and souls, radiating with pure passion, spirit, and zest - inspiring, uniting, and comforting all at once.

His ability to unify thousands of people from all walks of life through his words, energy, and stage presence was second to none, something we were fortunate enough to experience from the front row at Glastonbury in 2010 (and again at Shepherd's Bush Empire a few years later). Imagine 150,000 people beckoning out "we come one" in complete unity, as one. A moment that will stay with us forever. We were putty in his hands, and gratefully so.

We were just 10 years old when Faithless was formed, 11 when their first album, 'Reverance' was released, just as we were beginning to forge our relationship with dance music. Discovering the band at such a young age is something we will be forever grateful for - a discovery that was absolutely meant to be. It is safe to say that Faithless, and most of all Maxi Jazz, are a HUGE part of the reason we are here today, and why our love for music goes so deep.

We are sending Maxi Jazz's band mates, family, and friends so much love right now. someone who will live forever through his music, but whose physical absence will no doubt be deeply and painfully missed.
