Last night Kamus String Quartet, with singer Caroline Shaw performed to a sold out hall in Brussels, the beautiful Les Brigittines - Playhouse for Movement.

Caroline's own music is heard in the context of earlier composers from Josquin des Prez and Alessandro Scarlatti to Beethoven.

Jukka is the Artistic Director of Lohja City Orchestra and has been appointed Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the
Joensuu City Orchestra from early 2025.

Jukka is already known to us as violinist in the Kamus Quartet. He has been successfully building a reputation as a respected conductor throughout Finland, having studied with esteemed professor Jorma Panula, and he now comes to us for worldwide representation.

He has been invited as guest conductor by orchestras such as the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, Jyväskylä Sinfonia, Oulu Sinfonia, and the Joensuu City, Kuopio Symphony, Ostrobothnian Chamber and Vaasa City orchestras.

Matthew Barley plays Tavener's Protecting Veil with Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Sir Donald Runnicles. ★★★★½ from Limelight

'The work comes full circle to the solo opening phrase, which Tavener stipulated should be “transcendent with awesome majesty”. Barley certainly summoned up that feeling with a performance of this work that relies less on flashy virtuosity but more on sustained beauty of tone and pure stamina.'
