📺 their film is on Channel 4 on Monday.

EQUAL PLAY stars Paralympian Hannah Cockroft and shines a spotlight on the need for equal access to school sports for disabled children.

This short documentary is a celebration of the joy in sports for all—showing the uniting and universal power of sports, the drive for young people to thrive, and the push for a more equitable future. 💪 ✨

🎥 We are impressed to hear that 45% of the crew working on this project identified as disabled. ⭐ Channel 4 on Monday, 26 August at 6pm!

Introducing Team Misfits Vol 6. –

Clare, Head of Production!

Without the calm and cool head of Clare guiding our team through each production, Team Misfits would fall by the wayside. Like a swan gliding through a lake, Clare’s constantly kicking away under the surface, getting huge amounts of work done; while always staying calm, composed and positive above the water.

On an average Wednesday afternoon, you’ll find Clare at her desk negotiating and closing deals, issuing & agreeing contracts, making complicated multi-tab excel spreadsheets detailing budgets and schedules for all our films, and calmly overseeing our various productions and teams.

Izzy, Junior Producer!

Having spent over a year working insanely hard on ‘Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story’, Izzy is undoubtably one of the most valued and trusted members of Team Misfits.

When she’s not got a sword in her hand guarding the office mascot, Izzy can be found at her desk expertly producing Misfits latest film to enter production, ‘Black is Beautiful’, directed by .

A beacon of light and laughter in the office, Izzy makes the space a better place on a daily basis – we don’t know what we’d do without her!

Introducing Team Misfits, Vol. 4 –

Sam, Producers Assistant.

A key cog in the Misfits machine, Sam runs the office on a day-to-day basis, supporting the producers, making sure meetings are set and standards are met.

On an average Friday afternoon, you’ll find Sam playing high-level Tetris with the office calendars, scheduling calls and finding time slots for anything and everything, by any means necessary!

On a regular Wednesday afternoon, you’ll find Zuly swimming through receipts at her desk and closing down deals!

Time flies! - It’s the sixth anniversary of the release of ‘McQueen’ - Misfits’ very first feature documentary about the life of fashion genius Alexander McQueen….

To celebrate here’s a throwback to the film’s launch in the UK and US back in the summer of 2018.

THE CONTESTANT screened raindancefilmfestival to a SOLD OUT crowd last night!

Thank you to everyone that made the trip down to in Soho, on a sweltering summers evening to see ’s telling of ’s amazing story.

It was an absolute honour to welcome Nasubi himself for a Q and A after the screening, in addition to so many of the wonderful crew behind the film.
Seeing Nasubi receive a standing ovation as he took to the stage was a hugely emotional moment for everyone involved in the film, and everyone in attendance.

A huge thank you to everyone that came down to the Crucible Theatre on Saturday for the fantastic ‘Right Money, Right Film’ panel, moderated impeccably by Misfits very own .

An insightful panel featuring an incomparable group of documentary producers — of , Alessandro Carroli of and Jonny Taylor of . All of whom were generous with their time and knowledge, sharing a wealth of great advice to the packed out crowd!

And an additional special thanks to the brave souls that took to the mic at the end of the panel to pitch their documentary ideas in the festivals first ever live financing masterclass.

IN A WEEKS TIME the Misfits team will be heading up to Sheffield Doc Fest 2024, for another year of festival fun and fluctuant weather forecasts in the Peak District!

We’re excited for the UK Premiere of our feature doc THE CONTESTANT which has had an amazing festival run, a high-profile launch on Hulu (including billboards in Time Square and Sunset Boulevard), and incredible reviews.
Follow the link in our bio to grab yourself a ticket to one of the films three screenings across the festival — and might even be in attendance for a Q&A, if you’re lucky!

Our very own Head of Documentary will also be heading up a fantastic panel on the Saturday of the festival at the Crucible Theatre at 12:30, alongside a stellar lineup of kickass documentary producers. The ‘RIGHT MONEY RIGHT FILM’ panel will feature experienced & successful producers sharing their strategies for raising *the right* money for docs. They will share case studies from their wide-ranging experience (over decades) and discuss how the type of funding influences the final product.
The second half of this session is a live financing masterclass where these experts will propose finance strategies and plans for projects pitched from the audience.

We are so proud of all our Misfits team members for their work that’ll be on display across the festival next week, and we can’t wait to show up in support of our fellow documentary friends and their amazing work, also.

are excited to announce that we will be working alongside the wonderful folks and on our latest fiction film Girl Next Door, starring and to be directed By .

Executive Produced by , the film depicts the real-life story of Samantha Lewthwaite, the widow of one of the 7/7 terrorist bombers, who was later radicalised herself in the events that followed the attack. We are honoured to be working with such a talented team to tell such a thought-provoking and important story.

The producing team includes Misfits own Dee Ryder () and Sofia Ismail Martin ().

Have we said enough about yet? No, NEVER!

It’s been a wild week for , and the whole team at Misfits as we’ve watched from across the pond, while our little film is released in America in a flurry of press interviews, billboards and rave reviews!

The coverage that The Contestant has received has been completely bonkers, topped off by it being THE NUMBER ONE SEARCHED DOCUMENTARY on streaming platforms over the weekend. What a journey!
