“Sydney Kandela is a blind musician living in Zambia. He lost his sight at the tender age of 3, being brought up by a single parent; his father to be specific.

Sydney studied music when he was in school during his Primary Level in 2007, and he started his professional recording career in 2019 when he was studying Information Communication Technology. Sydney only managed to obtain a Certificate due to financial challenges.

Apparently he has not started a family of his own yet. He enjoys live music, performing and by the Grace of God he can play instruments such as the guitar and the keyboard.”

We will also be discussing his plans to network with more people all over the world to help spread his message and create a charity to help people of disability backgrounds from Africa, most specifically his home country Zambia. “My journey in Music, by DreDreKings.

I started listening to music at the age of 5, how I noticed my talent, was when I was watching home and a way haha, my parents was in shock, so basically surprised. I fell in love with music instantly, a couple years later I auditioned to be on XFactor but didn’t make it through because I was nervous haha, anyways I wrote my first song in secondary school, it was for a girl that I liked at the time lol, I sang it to her in front of her friends, I can’t lie, I was so nervous haha, after that I made my first ever YouTube channel and I went by the name KingDre, this was back in 2010/11, from there I was trying to take music seriously, fast forwarding to 2016 I enrolled in a course called Midi Music and I was learning how to use Ableton.

So within that same year I done my first performance at a pub in New Cross, called New Cross Inn, and it was awesome.

A year later I started college, I was doing level 1 carpentry, that is when I met more music artists, we became friends and started to talk about music, as we got to know each other, we all decided to make a song, up until this day I still have our first song together lol, and when we play the song, it reminds how far I have come and how proud I am of myself, I thank God every single day, because without him I wouldn’t of been where I am right now.

Anyways after going to a studio for the first time, I knew that music was the one for me and ever since then I’ve never stopped loving music.”
