I hesitated but still decided to make a list of things I’ve done in 2024, for my memories mostly:

1. Introduced Peter to reading for pleasure.
2. Organised children a great year of travel: (knowing my earnings it looks like a miracle to me)
3. Visited Web Summit, which was on my list for some time.
4. Created more than 50 illustrations for Country Life Magazine
5. Updated a website.
6. Allowed myself to have a personal art show for my birthday
7. Did large scale and more intricate paper cut artworks - vytynankas. No I need to save for the proper framing, so I could present them as they are intended.
8. Somehow turned into a botanical illustrator and then suddenly - into a food illustrator. That was unexpected.
9. Painted an ambitious Ukrainian food calendar with recipes.
10. Took my whole family to the theatre several times, including 1-2-1 time with each child.
11. Taught some workshops for Ukrainian refugees and donated art that earned a little bit of £££ for Ukraine. Also 500 of my cards were sent out to American congressmen and senators to remind them about the necessity of supporting Ukraine.
12. Got depressed (again), but started therapy.
13. Painted more personal commissions than last year: portraits of couples, family, baby, dogs, gardens, houses and a school.
14. Did some Christmas markets (thanks to Steph).
15. My calendar now belongs to Stephen Fry (not sure, what he thought of it and if he kept it) and Benedict Cumberbatch (as I was recently informed, he quite liked it) and a lot of other lovely people
16. Arranged an art and travel start of the year for myself and something to look forward through the cold misery of English January (thanks to Mary).
17. Connected with new people that still sounds surreal for introverted awkward old me
18. Did my taxes on time, actually submitted everything on Christmas Eve
19. Kept drawing. More and more it felt like it didn’t make much sense to continue with my style and subjects as it didn’t help my family and my countries much. All kind words of support from you mean a lot to me.
20. Baked Easter P***a bread and honey cake for new year. :)

I always write things that I’ve achieved in a year, but this year it felt a bit different. So:
5 things I haven’t achieved in 2024

1. I haven’t got my driving licence. Though I tried and spent lots of money on that. I definitely felt more confident. Maybe I’d be able to get closer to it if the booking system were not so corrupted. Also got more suspicious in my ADHD as I realised my focus issues are definitely there.
2. Did not meet my financial goals, at all, not even close. All because I didn’t meet my work/self-promotion/sales goals in the first place.
3. Didn’t do any sport, though the start of the year looked like I’d eventually would.
4. Haven’t started adhd and asd diagnosis, despite 3 medical professionals being quite sure that I have it. Failed to get through insurance (tried twice) and didn’t get a nerve to start the years long process with the nhs.
5. I really wanted to do something ground-breaking before my 40th birthday career wise, but I haven’t. Maybe I’m on my way, maybe I’m not.

Could add more, but decided that 5 was enough.

By the way, autocorrection added ‘yet’ after ‘haven’t achieved’ and I thought it was hopeful. But I’m not ready to set goals plans for a while, to avoid disappointment. No resolution for me this year. Yet. :)

There’s been a lot of colour lately so I’ll share something black and white. This is a beginning of a City of London - a commission that I had long time ago: it was representing January, so it’s kind of relevant. The illustration was finished and printed and the originals - collected from me, but I still like that project and I think it influenced my art in many ways. Client: The Ritz Club. 2016

It’s not too late to say Happy New Year, is it? First time all my family came to London to celebrate together and we had a bit of everything: traditional salads, French oysters, theatre, street performance in Covent Garden and light angels in Regent’s street, beer at Waterloo, fish and chips in Soho, champagne at home and I even made a cake, that boys decorated!

My greeting cards journey in WindOnPaper as you know it started with this Christmas London collection. Of course I have designed greeting cards before, for friends and family since I was 7, and later as a designer in a greeting cards company. But after my first baby was born I went freelance and drew the views of London for the Ritz London Club’s calendar and they kept the originals and I felt like I needed to draw my own London. Christmas was coming, so the illustrations turned out to be all festive. My favourite is still the Royal Albert Hall, it took the most time. I also quite like the Covent Garden one. Which one do you prefer?

My paper cut tree ornaments. I always think of making more before Christmas (when the mood and anticipation and magic is still there) but December usually is so crazy that I have no time for any mindful craft ❄️✨❄️✨❄️

Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates! Boys refused to take selfie with the mother without their Roblox cards but what can you do if Santa brought them exactly what they asked for. 🎄🎄🎄

I hope everyone who had ordered Christmas cards from me has received theirs safely. I’m closing this chapter until the next season. I’ll still be sending out some 2025 calendars on Monday and hopefully they will arrive by the New Year day. Only one London calendar is left, by the way.

All my Ukrainian Christmas cards are sold out but I still have a few calendars. 4 wall calendars and 6 desktop calendars, to be precise. I’m going to post office every day this week, so it should still be time before Christmas, if you order asap. Shop in profile or DM me.

Have you signed your Christmas cards yet? With holidays approaching, some cards are slowly selling out. I still have most cards from this collection though- I called it Magic Christmas because, I think, I managed to capture the magic of the festive atmosphere the way I see it. 🎄🎠❄️✨
At the moment 5 designs are available. Shop in profile or DM. Also available on Etsy.

On Sunday I turned 40. I was trying to think of ‘things I learned’ or just ‘things I understood’ by this time, but no, I couldn’t do that at all. No lessons, no wisdom here. Just a 40 year old person who is as lost as ever. There have been some recent
discoveries: apparently I’m very likely to have ADHD (big surprise for me but explains so many things) and depression (that just comes and goes all my life, I was just never offered a test until now).
Maybe it’s a time to talk about mental health, but I have this feeling that one has a right to talk about mental health when they have achieved the highest tops and only then can look back and say that they did that all despite all their inner struggles. And I’m not there yet.
Anyway, I dared to allow myself a personal show for my birthday and I’m very grateful to everyone who came and made my day. Maybe next year I’ll create something of a bigger scale - I had a feeling that oil paintings were lacking…

Sometimes I decide to completely redraw the artwork, if, for some reason, the final outcome doesn’t satisfy me. I did this Royal Albert Hall painting and then I realised I was after a rounder, cleaner shape. I will try to bring both to my shoe do you could compare them. Which one do you prefer?
(Also k never studied English punctuation so not sure about the commas:)
