Let’s clarify what should not be included in your tracks or the tracks of your clients.

❌ Violence

We do not allow content that promotes any form of violence, including violence against people, animals, or self-harm. Content that includes references to su***de, physical harm, bullying, harassment, or other actions that could lead to injury or worse—as well as content that demeans human dignity—will be considered a violation of our guidelines.

❌ Offensive Content

Discrimination and offensive material based on race, nationality, gender, age, s*xual orientation, religion, physical development, or other individual traits are strictly prohibited. Examples of unacceptable content include glorifying Nazism/fascism and their symbols, praising radical groups’ actions, or encouraging racism. We maintain zero tolerance for such content.

❌ Shocking Content

We are vigilant about content that graphically describes scenes of s*x, drug use, or extreme cruelty, as well as tracks with excessive profanity. Such content can provoke shock or disgust in listeners and is subject to distribution restrictions.

YouTube Tests AI-Powered Track Remixing Feature

YouTube has announced the testing of a new feature as part of its "Dream Track" project. Initially launched in November 2023, this project allowed creators on YouTube Shorts to use licensed AI-generated voices of artists like Charlie Puth, Charli XCX, John Legend, and Sia.

The new feature introduces a significant addition: an AI tool for remixing or "restyling" tracks. YouTube describes this experimental feature as a way for a small group of creators to modify a limited number of official songs provided by its music industry partners.

Creators participating in the test can select an eligible song, describe the desired changes, and generate a unique 30-second soundtrack to use in their Short videos. For example, if someone wants to give a song a different genre or mood, they simply input their vision into the "Restyle a track" prompt, and the tool creates a customized soundtrack that reimagines the music while maintaining the essence of the original vocals and lyrics.

YouTube emphasised that the original song will be fully credited in the resulting Shorts, with clear labeling of the AI usage for the remix or restyle.
