Sabbath School Lesson 11 Summary
The Impending Conflict

Sabbath Afternoon
Memory Text: John 17:17 “‘Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth’”

A biochip, or VeriChip, implanted in patients contains medical history information. Some Christians view this as a conspiracy to enforce the mark of the beast, while others believe it's related to the Masonic order, Illuminati, or the United Nations. This week's lesson reveals a global conflict over worship, with Satan challenging God's authority and using coercion to break believers' commitment to Christ. God's final appeal is to faithfulness to Christ despite persecution, economic boycotts, imprisonment, and death decrees.

Sunday
Revelation’s Final Conflict
Compare Revelation 14:7; Revelation 14:9; Revelation 4:11. What is the overarching theme of Revelation in this conflict between good and evil? The message of Revelation is more than cryptic symbols and strange beasts; it speaks of eternal truths given by a loving God to an end-time generation. The conflict between Christ and Satan began in heaven over worship and will come to its final climax over worship. Worship and creation are indissolubly linked throughout Revelation, with the Sabbath being an eternal reminder of our identity and Creator. Worshiping the Creator through keeping the commandments of God stands in direct opposition to worshiping the beast. God will have an end-time people who are loyal to Him despite the greatest opposition and fiercest persecution in history. The seventh-day Sabbath is a foundational symbol of God as Creator, and seeking to usurp it is to usurp the authority of God at the most foundational level possible.

Monday
The Coming Crisis
The mark of the beast prophecy in Revelation 13:1-18 describes Satan's final stage of his war against God. The enemy uses deception and force to take as many as possible, ultimately leading to the death of anyone who refuses to worship the beast or receive his mark. This persecution is not new, as it has been present throughout Christian history, particularly in the medieval church. The mark of the beast is the final link in this hellish chain, forcing everyone to conform to a certain set of beliefs and worship system. The prophecy emphasizes that the final test comes when professed Christians make compromises in their lives, and the central conflict between good and evil is over worship.

Tuesday
Identifying the Beast: Part 1
Revelation 13:1-2. Where does this beast rise from, and who gives it authority? The dragon in Revelation 12:3-5 is Satan, who attempted to destroy the "male Child" who was later caught up to God and His throne. This archenemy works through political and religious institutions to accomplish his purposes. The dragon gave him power, throne, and great authority, which was fulfilled when the Roman emperor Constantine moved his capital from Rome to Constantinople, giving the beast its seat. The sea beast of Revelation 13:1-18 is an apostate religious power that rises out of Rome and becomes a worldwide system of worship. The Roman Papacy has two distinctive doctrines that the Bible calls blasphemy: its claims that its priests have the power to forgive sins and that the pope has the prerogatives of God on earth.

Wednesday
Identifying the Beast: Part 2
Revelation 13:5. Write this identifying characteristic in the space below. God's people find their greatest joy and delight in worshiping Him, and their obedience stems from their heart of love. They are committed to Him because they know how committed He is to them. The Papacy, which had great influence from A.D. 538 to A.D. 1798, ended its prophetic period when Napoleon's general, Berthier, took the pope captive. The Papacy's influence is now felt worldwide. Pope Benedict XVI, in his 2012 speech, declared Sunday as the day of the Lord and of men and women, defending human freedom. The Great Controversy reveals that those who honour the Bible Sabbath will be denounced as enemies of law and order, leading to anarchy, corruption, and the call down of God's judgments. This movement reflects the rapid changes in our world and the potential for end-time events.

Thursday
The Beast From the Earth
Revelation 13:11-18. How does this second beast differ from the first beast of Revelation 13:1-18? The second beast, originating from the sea, represents a sparsely populated world and rises to prominence around A.D. 1798. The United States, a world power, declared independence in 1776 and adopted its constitution in 1789. The beast has two horns, symbolizing power and political and religious liberty. It eventually speaks like a dragon, exercising all the authority of the first beast and abandoning religious liberty. The United States forms an image to the beast, forming a union of church and state, and requiring everyone to worship it. The political instability in America today may lead to the fulfilment of this prophecy.

Friday
Further Thought
Worshiping the beast and its image is a central issue in ancient and modern Babylon, as it relates to the commandments of the king of Babylon to bow down to a golden image or face punishment. True worship comes from a mind taught by God's Word, a soul transformed by His love, and a heart filled with His Spirit. Satan's constant resort is cruelty, working through religious and secular authorities to enforce human laws in defiance of God's law. To endure the trial, one must understand God's will, act in accordance with His character, government, and purposes, and demand a plain 'Thus saith the Lord' in its support.”—The Great Controversy, p. 595.

Sabbath School Lesson 10 Summary
Spiritualism Exposed

Sabbath Afternoon
Memory Text:
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord”

Near death experiences (NDEs) have led to the belief that the dead are not truly dead, a deception by Satan. Spiritualism, which began in Eden with the serpent's lie, has been a significant deception since the Fox sisters' fraudulent claim. To counter Satan's delusions, it is crucial to have a personal relationship with Christ and a solid foundation in the Bible, including its teachings about death.

Sunday
The Deadly Consequences of Spiritualism
“ ‘And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell’ ” (Matthew 10:28). The fable that death is a new stage of life is based on the concept of the soul's natural immortality. This pagan idea was introduced into the Christian faith by Rome to make its faith understandable to the Roman world. The Lord forbade occultism and punished those who called up the dead, as it was demonic and counterfeited a genuine relationship with God. Spiritualism is at the heart of Satan's plan to take the world captive, but Jesus frees captives through grace and power. The belief that the dead go to heaven at death is firmly entrenched and difficult for people to let go of.

Monday
Death in the Old Testament
Psalms 6:5; Psalms 115:17; 1 Kings 2:10; 1 Kings 11:43; 1 Kings 14:20. What do these verses teach about the state of the dead? The Old Testament does not teach the immortality of the soul or that after death, the faithful ascend to heaven for eternity, while the unfaithful descend to hell. Instead, it teaches that death is a sleep, with the book of Kings describing the death of patriarchs as "they rested [slept] with their fathers." The idea of the dead as disembodied spirits communicating with the living is pure paganism. Failure to understand this truth exposes us to Satan's deceptions, as the dead know not anything and are the spirits of devils. Those who die in Christ close their eyes in death, knowing the Second Coming and the resurrection.

Tuesday
Death in the New Testament
Read John 11:11-14; John 11:21-25; 2 Timothy 1:10; 1 Corinthians 15:51-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17. How do the New Testament writers’ descriptions of death compare with those in the Old Testament?

The Old and New Testaments use the symbolism of death as a sleep, with 53 times equated with death. The New Testament adds the glorious resurrection at Christ's return, emphasizing that eternal life is in Christ alone. Paul's words emphasize that Christ's resurrection is the foundation of our resurrection, and without it, faith is futile. The hope we have in the resurrection at Jesus' return is the inheritance incorruptible and undefiled reserved in heaven for us. New Testament believers eagerly looked forward to the coming of Christ and the resurrection of the dead, inspiring them to faithfulness in the trials of life.

Wednesday
Spiritualism in the Last Days: Part 1
Matthew 24:5; Matthew 24:11; Matthew 24:24; 2 Thessalonians 2:7-9; Revelation 13:13-14; Revelation 16:13-14. What kind of deceptions will people face in the last days? The devil will use signs and miracles to deceive multitudes before Jesus' coming, using supernatural manifestations called "signs" or "miracles." These signs appeal to the affective side of humans, rather than their rational abilities. As the cosmic conflict approaches its closure, demonic power will enter human history in unprecedented ways, leading to the rise of spiritualism, whose foundation is the non-biblical teaching of the immortality of the soul. Satan has been preparing for his final attempt to deceive the world, and only those who are kept by God's power through faith in His word will be swept into this delusion. Our sole security lies in Jesus and His Word, and understanding the state of the dead can protect us from common deceptions.

Thursday
Spiritualism in the Last Days: Part 2
Our hope of salvation is rooted in Christ, who will return to claim His own sacrifice. Satan's goal is to destroy this hope by performing miracles, signs, and wonders that could lead people away from Bible truth and salvation in Christ. In the final struggle, Satan will do everything to prevent people from keeping the commandments of God or having the faith of Jesus. It is important to be careful of teachings that, even if accompanied by signs, wonders, and miracles, would turn us away from either of these characteristics. In the last moments of time, Satan will enact his final deception, personating Christ and claiming the title and worship of the world's Redeemer. Understanding the truth about Christ's return and the state of the dead is crucial to avoid being deceived.

Friday
Further Thought
Lee Strobel's book, The Case for Heaven, suggests that the dead remain alive in the afterlife, using near death experiences (NDEs) as proof. However, Strobel struggles to reconcile this idea with biblical teachings that Christians receive their final reward when Christ returns. The book warns that many will face devil spirits personating loved ones and declaring heresies. Satan's deceptions will increase as people voluntarily yield to his temptations. Those seeking knowledge of the truth and obedience will find a defence in the God of truth. The Saviour promises to send angels out of heaven to protect His people, rather than leaving one soul to be overcome by Satan.

Sabbath School Lesson Summary 3
Light Shines in the Darkness

Sabbath Afternoon
Memory Text: John 12:35, NKJV “Then Jesus said to them, ‘A little while longer, the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going’”.

In Revelation, the devil is depicted as a dragon and a serpent, aiming to destroy God's people. Rome tortured and burned thousands of people at the stake after Christ's death. Despite this, many remained faithful, spreading the gospel and growing the church. Satan changed his strategy, blending pagan practices with Christian teachings, leading to compromise in the fourth and fifth centuries. Despite this, God's people remained loyal to His Word and remained unflinchingly faithful.

Sunday
Compromise: Satan’s Subtle Strategy
Compare John 14:6 with John 8:44. What contrast between Jesus’ character and Satan’s is seen in these two passages? Jesus is the author of truth, originating from an all-wise, all-loving, all-knowing God. Satan, a liar and the father of lies, uses lies, deceit, and distortions of the truth to lead God's people astray. Satan's strategy involves undermining confidence in God's Word, contradicting God's revealed will, distorting Scripture, and sometimes misquoting the Bible to his advantage. The Holy Scriptures, like Proverbs 23:23, John 17:17, and John 8:32, provide the shield of eternal truth. The Roman Church adopted Satan's logic, which resulted in the ban on Bible distribution and the pope's control over both church and state.

Monday
Savage Wolves
Read Acts 20:27–32. What specific warnings did the apostle Paul give to the church leaders from Ephesus regarding the coming apostasy?

Paul's counsel aimed to prepare the Christian church for persecution and heresy, which would lead to false doctrines and pagan practices. In the fourth and fifth centuries, compromises subtly crept into the Christian church, with mission advancement being the probable justification. This resulted in a departure from God's Word regarding obedience to God's law. The mystery of lawlessness already worked, and idols were introduced into Christian worship. To make Christianity more acceptable, pagan deities were renamed as saints, and Sunday was adopted as the day of worship in honour of the Resurrection.

Tuesday
Safeguarded by the Word
Compare John 17:15–17 and Acts 20:32. What insights do Jesus and the apostle Paul give us regarding protection from the deceptions of Satan? The Bible is the infallible revelation of God's will and presents Heaven's plan for humanity's salvation. It is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. The Bible reveals God's infinite love and exposes satanic delusions and Satan's deceptions. The Word of God must be the final standard for understanding all sacred truths. We must fight against attempts to undermine its authority or inspiration, even from those who bring doubts about it. Many theologians and Christians focus on the human side of Scripture, arguing that the Bible is the writings of kings, shepherds, fisherman, priests, poets, and others who shared their understandings of God, nature, and reality.

Wednesday
Human Reasoning Apart From Scripture
Proverbs 16:25, Judges 21:25, and Isaiah 53:6. What do these texts reveal about Satan’s strategy of deception? The Holy Spirit guides us through our minds, allowing us to explore the mysteries of the universe. However, human reasoning alone is not enough to discover divine truths. Satan's strategy of deception is to lead us to believe that human reasoning, without the Holy Spirit and God's Word, is sufficient to understand God's will. Truth and error can only be understood in light of God's Word, and it is crucial to make God's Word our final arbiter of truth and morality. The relationship between human reason and divine revelation is complex, as reason helps us understand divine revelation. For example, Daniel 2, a prophecy, appeals to human reason, highlighting the importance of making God's Word our final arbiter of truth and morality.

Thursday
Battle for the Mind
2 Corinthians 4:3–6. What does “whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe” (2 Cor. 4:4, NKJV) mean? How are their eyes blinded? How are eyes opened? The passage discusses the battle between Christ and Satan, highlighting Satan's role in blinding men's minds through various means, including preventing them from studying God's Word, degrading their powers, and appealing to pride and self-exaltation. The SDA Bible Commentary emphasizes that the gospel is the only means to expose Satan's diabolical schemes and deceptions, and to guide men from darkness to light. The New Testament message centres around Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, and all Scripture testifies to Him. In the early Christian church, believers were committed to Christ as the light in their darkness, recognising devil's deceptions through the gospel's light.

Friday
Further Thought
The same spirit of hatred and opposition to truth has inspired enemies of God throughout history, requiring vigilance and fidelity in His servants. Mark 13:37.”—Ellen G. White, The Great Controversy, pp. 56, 57.

Satan has used scientific endeavours and biblical scholarship to weaken the Bible's influence, particularly in areas with free access. Scholars often take positions that undermine trust in the Word of God, such as arguing that the book of Daniel was written centuries later than it says. This lie is a common issue in modern scholarship, and many people accept it. (1 Thess. 5:21, NKJV).

ADVENTIST CHURCH’S SILENCE ON THE GAZA CONFLICT

By Lloyd Makonese.

As an academic and Adventist I think some of the issues like the church’s dead silence on the Gaza conflict shouldn’t go unquestioned.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church, a prominent Christian denomination known for its commitment to humanitarian principles and the sanctity of life, has maintained a conspicuously muted stance regarding the ongoing conflict in Gaza. This silence is notably incongruent with the Church’s historical advocacy on peace and justice issues, which raises significant ethical and theological concerns.

The teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist Church emphasize peace and the inherent value of all human life, which is rooted in their understanding of biblical texts. For instance, the Church’s official statement on peace declares, "Seventh-day Adventists are called to be a people of peace and to advocate for the dignity and respect of all human beings, both within their own communities and globally" (General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, 2002). The conflict in Gaza, which involves profound human suffering and breaches of international humanitarian law, would logically necessitate a vocal response from an organization dedicated to such principles.

Moreover, the Adventist Church has a well-established history of humanitarian outreach through its extensive network of development and relief agencies, such as the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA). ADRA actively engages in providing aid in crisis zones, reinforcing the Church's commitment to alleviating human suffering without discrimination. This institutional ethos suggests that a public stance on Gaza is not only within the Church's scope of interest but arguably a moral obligation, given the scale of distress and displacement inflicted on civilians.

The Church’s reticence is also at odds with its theological commitment to social justice, which is an integral part of its religious teachings. As articulated by Moltmann (2012), engaging with the world’s suffering is not merely a matter of charitable action but a theological imperative for Christians who follow a God who sympathizes with human agony. Therefore, the absence of a pronounced position on Gaza appears to contradict the Church’s own theological imperatives that advocate for justice and the alleviation of suffering.

In conclusion, the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s silence on the Gaza conflict represents a significant departure from its doctrinal commitment to peace and justice. This silence may undermine its moral authority and credibility, particularly among those who look to religious institutions not only for spiritual guidance but also for moral leadership in times of global crisis. The Church is thus faced with an imperative to align its public stances with its foundational beliefs and teachings, advocating for peace and the protection of all human life as part of its witness to the world.

Sabbath School Lesson 2 Summary
The Central Issue: Love or Selfishness?

Sabbath Afternoon
Memory Text: Isaiah 41:10, NKJV “ ‘ “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” ’ ”.

Jesus' words to his disciples on the Mount of Olives, "not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down," are a foreshadowing of Satan's strategy to deceive and destroy God's people at the end time. Jesus' instruction in Matthew 24 outlines last-day events in the context of Jerusalem's fall, highlighting Satan's twofold strategy: achieving through persecution and compromising, and God's unwavering preservation of His people even in challenging times.

Sunday
A Brokenhearted Saviour
John 1:11, Jesus did everything He could to save His people from the coming destruction of their beloved city. Jesus' heart was broken as He sat on the Mount of Olives, overlooking Jerusalem. He did everything he could to save His people from the destruction of their beloved city. His infinite love for His people led to His repeated appeals to repent and accept His gracious invitation of mercy. The destruction of Jerusalem, involving tens of thousands of deaths, is difficult to understand in light of God's loving character. Satan's actions in war were not God's, but Satan's desire to deceive and destroy, blaming evil actions on God. Jesus instructed His people to flee the city when the Roman armies approached. We should judge God's character through His loving character as revealed in the Bible, as this is good counsel.

Monday
Christians Providentially Preserved
Read Psalm 46:1 and Isaiah 41:10. What do these passages tell us about God’s providential care? The events leading up to the destruction of Jerusalem reveal God's mercy, grace, providence, and foreknowledge. The Romans and Jews withdrew, and the Christians fled to Pella in Perea. God's providential care overrules earthly events for the ultimate accomplishment of His divine purposes. Despite hardships and persecution, God sustains and preserves His church. Hebrews 11:35–38 and Revelation 2:10 reveal our battle with evil forces, and God's protection allows some to face suffering and martyrdom. The Bible writers' writings reveal the reality of God's love, and how we can experience that same love for ourselves.

Tuesday
Faithful Amid Persecution
Acts 2:41; Acts 4:4, 31; Acts 5:42; and Acts 8:1–8. What do these verses teach us about the challenges the New Testament church faced and why it grew so rapidly? Throughout the early centuries of Christianity, the church grew rapidly despite imprisonment, torture, and persecution. Despite facing threats, imprisonment, persecution, and death, faithful believers, filled with the Holy Spirit, courageously proclaimed the resurrected Christ, leading to the multiplicity of churches throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria. The gospel triumphed in the face of overwhelming odds, and the disciples' faith filled their hearts. The gospel penetrated the remotest corners of the earth, and even after the death of the last disciple, John, others continued to proclaim the living Christ. The early church's growth can be learned from the end-time church, as it demonstrates the power of faith and the power of the Holy Spirit in transforming lives.

Wednesday
Caring for the Community
The early Christian church grew not only through preaching the gospel but also through living it out. Believers modelled the ministry of Christ, who went about healing sickness and disease among the people. This unselfish love and commitment to meeting human needs, combined with sharing the good news of the gospel in the Holy Spirit's power, made a significant impact on the world. The New Testament believers followed Christ's model, expressing Christ's compassion for hurting humanity. The gospel aims to restore the image of God in humanity through physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing. Jesus' plan for each person is to be physically healthy, mentally alert, emotionally stable, and spiritually whole. The church plays a role in cooperating with Christ in proving Satan's charges wrong.

Thursday
A Legacy of Love
Read John 13:35 and 1 John 4:21. What do these passages reveal about Satan’s challenge against the government of God in the great controversy? What do they tell us about the essence of genuine Christianity? In the early centuries, love was the norm in Christian communities, as demonstrated by Tertullian's belief that noble deeds led to a brand on Christians. The unselfish, sacrificial, caring, and loving ministry of Christians during the devastating pandemics around 160 and 260 demonstrated God's love. This led to thousands and eventually millions, of Roman Empire believers in Jesus. Rodney Stark's The Rise of Christianity portrays these events in a modern light, highlighting how the Christian community, still heavily Judeo-Christian, became a virtual army of nurses during the second epidemic. The message is that we must learn to die to self to manifest this same selfless spirit, which is not easy.

Friday
Further Thought
The gospel spread rapidly, reaching regions inaccessible to Rome's eagles. A Christian expostulated against heathen rulers, claiming their injustice was proof of their innocence. He urged others to persuade them, claiming that the blood of Christians is seed. —Tertullian, Apology, paragraph 50.” Ellen G. White, The Great Controversy, pp. 41–42.

The mysterious providence that allows the righteous to suffer persecution from the wicked has caused confusion among those with weak faith. Some question God's tolerance for injustice and oppression, but God has provided sufficient evidence of His love and goodness, making it impossible to doubt His goodness. The Great Controversy, p. 47.

Sabbath School Lesson 01 Summary
The War Behind All Wars

Sabbath Afternoon
Memory Text: Revelation 12:7, 8, “And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer”.

This week's lesson explores the conflict between good and evil, beginning with Lucifer's rebellion in heaven. God is a God of incredible love, with His actions being loving and never forced. Denying the power of choice destroys the ability to love and happiness. God's love wins allegiance and demonstrates His purpose in the best interests of His creatures. By viewing the world through God's love, right will triumph over wrong, ensuring that sin will never arise again in the universe.

Sunday
War in Heaven
Revelation 12:7-9 reveals the origin of evil and the freedom in heaven. Satan and his angels, who were perfect, rebelled against Christ, leading to their exile. The Bible explains the origin of evil, revealing that sin originated with Lucifer in heaven. Lucifer, a perfect angel, sought worship belonging to the Creator and attempted to usurp His throne. His rebellion led to open warfare in heaven. Despite God's patience, He could not allow Lucifer to spoil heaven. The heavenly councils pleaded with him, but the warning in infinite love and mercy only aroused a spirit of resistance. This passage teaches us about God's character in dealing with evil.

Monday
Lucifer Deceives; Christ Prevails
Lucifer, a perfect angel, allowed pride and jealousy to grow into rebellion against his Creator, leading to Satan's rebellion. Satan accused God of being unjust and unfair, infecting the angels with his doubts and accusations. A war broke out in heaven, forcing the angels to decide whether to follow Jesus or Lucifer. The loyal angels chose to follow Christ, while one-third disobeyed God and lost heaven. We are called to decide for or against Christ and declare our side in this critical time of earth's history. The battle in heaven teaches us that humans are created with the ability to make moral choices and live by eternal spiritual principles. The lessons from this battle can apply to our own personal battle with evil.

Tuesday
Planet Earth Becomes Involved
God created the earth perfect, with no sin or evil. He gave Adam and Eve the same freedom of choice as Lucifer, but not robots. He planted a tree in the Garden, the tree of knowledge of good and evil, to make them aware of their choice. Satan told Eve that eating the forbidden fruit would open her eyes and make her like God. However, this choice opened a door that God wanted to keep closed, leading to sin and suffering. Sin is rebellion against God, leading to death, worry, anxiety, sickness, and disease. God promised hope and initiated service in Eden to guide humanity towards a solution to the sin problem.

Wednesday
Love Finds a Way
It was at this point that God gave them the promise recorded in Genesis 3:15. Adam and Eve, who sinned, were told by God to leave their garden home and face toil and suffering. They were promised redemption through Jesus Christ, who bruised Satan's heel on the cross. This victory signifies that the door of suffering and death that Adam and Eve opened will be closed. The Bible reveals a Christ who experienced heartache, disappointment, and pain, triumphing over the principalities and powers of hell both in His life and through His death on the cross. Jesus, the creator of the cosmos, stepped down from heaven and suffered in the fallen world, all for each of us, personally. His death accomplishes the great controversy between good and evil, providing hope and a powerful reason to hope.

Thursday
Our High Priest
Hebrews 4:15, 16 and Hebrews 7:25. How do these verses give us assurance in a world of temptation, suffering, disease, and death? Jesus' sacrifice on the cross provides assurance in a world of temptation, suffering, disease, and death. He was tempted as we are, yet without sin, and offers us assurance in coming to the throne of grace. Jesus presents us as clothed in righteousness, saved by His death, and redeemed through His blood. He is our great High Priest, providing everything we need to be saved and live in God's kingdom forever. Through His mighty intercession, the grip of sin on our lives is broken, and we are free. Jesus' longing desire in the great controversy between good and evil is to save us, and He brings comfort, peace, forgiveness, and strength to those in need.

Friday
Further Thought
God declared justice and maintained His throne after Satan's banishment. He demonstrated love by offering His Son to die for humanity's sin, revealing His character and proving that sin's chosen course was not a burden on God's government. Ellen G. White, The Great Controversy, pp. 500, 501.

The cross of Calvary, while declaring the law immutable, also signifies the ultimate punishment of sin, as Satan's death knell is rung. The Son of God, through death, destroys the devil. Hebrews 2:14.” Ellen G. White, The Great Controversy, p. 503.
