House Trained, London (2025)

Started as a London based club night, House Trained earned a reputation on the underground circuit thanks to a combination of cutting edge flyers and poster art, a loyal following of party revellers and its accompanying strapline "no **** on the floor"; in reference to an unwavering attitude towards its no nonsense music policy. , a series of parties next door to London's Fabric resulted in a guest appearance from Mylo, on the cusp of global stardom and a favourable Mixmag report followed, labelling House Trained " #1 top night in London". A small print run of t-shirts with the Scotty dog logo emblazoned on the front led to an upsurge in requests from punters and DJs alike, eager to pledge their allegiance to this understated club night which had sprouted from relative obscurity on nothing more than a shoestring budget. A Saturday night Ministry of Sound radio show followed and then a record label - flirtation with investment from a major label led to a series of commercial releases from DJ Disciple, Denise Lopez and Wolfgang Gartner before co-founder Phil Loraine filed the trademark independently. Next followed new mixes of 1990 northern classic "Hardcore Uproar", breathing new life into one of the most famous all time UK dance classics which was subsequently championed in festival sets worldwide by a number of A-List DJs. Later accompanied by a new vocal version which received rave reviews in DJ Mag, Mixmag, London Metro and Timeout, a memorable music video was also shot in Manchester's revered Music Box venue on the final week before it closed its doors to the public for the very last time, after forty years of successfully showcasing live music. After leaving Universal Music in 2008 where he had worked for almost a decade, Phil continued his music industry journey as a management consultant. He now works for Europa Music Management who represent the likes of Purple Disco Machine, Orbital, David Penn, Monolink and Babert and moves between London and Ibiza, where he hosts the House Trained radio show on Café Mambo Radio (Fridays at 2pm). A passionate house music enthusiast, he continues to DJ at every opportunity and push the House Trained brand forward as a labour of love.
