May 29 marked 150 years since his birth, and today marks 88 years since his death. What a beautiful life it was...

Let the writer of this post confess a funny secret. Well, for as long as I can remember, I have always understood this passage in the following way - the master of the feast scolded the groom for breaking the common-sense rule to serve better liquors at the beginning of the feast, and when they have had a drink (meaning their taste has also dulled) serve liquors of lesser quality. It seemed to me as if I heard this tone full of reproach: “Why did you hide this exquisite wine until now! There is no one to taste it with appreciation anymore!” You follow my line of thinking? I know some weddings where guests liked to drink decently ;-)

Thus, already in adulthood, after I found Catholicism again, one priest explained to me that the master of the feast did not address the bridegroom with resentment, but with approval and even admiration that “until this moment he managed to keep the good wine”!

Well, I don't know myself... What do you guys think about all this?

Time for New Year's resolutions. First, change the name of this Fanpage to something less formal - any suggestions? Of course, the core 'Key4int' must stay ;-)

Another thing - obviously what are Key4int's publishing plans?

Let us ask you - did our debut meet with your approval? Which of the characters on the cover has sparked a more lively interest in you? Of course, Chesterton is the superstar in this duo, but it is Fr Hesse who, due to the lesser availability of his texts, may appear as the more appealing element. Yes, this is the trail we will follow - the author of our next book will again be Fr Gregory D. Hesse! Stay tuned for more details soon :-)

In the meantime, let's celebrate! The New Year is coming. May it turn out to be, on the one hand, as exciting as the passing one, and at the same time more well-ordered, full of God's Peace! Which is what we wholeheartedly wish for ourselves and for you! Cheers!

So how was it? Let us listen to the account of the person who obtained the manuscript of Fr Hesse's An Introduction to the Theology of Gilbert Keith Chesterton.

The dissertation was published in Rome in 1991. The low-budget release reached only a limited number of readers, remaining completely unknown to the wider public. Luckily, the work was briefly mentioned by Fr. Hesse in one of his numerous talks whose recordings circulate online. Intrigued by this brief statement, I managed to find the book in the catalogue of the library of the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas. After enquiring about it, I found out from one of the librarians that there was a spare uncataloged copy lying on one of the shelves which could actually be taken away for free!
