ThePrint is excited to announce ‘ The Print x Peach Workshop ‘ 📰🍑

Our theme is ‘Poetry and Print ‘
The Print and Peach will each lead half of the workshop with their own set of prompts. ✍️

We will concentrate on journalistic writing and profile stories at The Print. What constitutes a good news story? How can you delve deeper?

The Peach will primarily feature poetry and expressionist writing.

This event is free and open to all Print and Peach members. Come along to the Matt Spencer boardroom on Wednesday 12th April at 2pm and get your creative juices flowing till 4!🫶🏼

Dear all,

Thank you to those who made it to our meeting on Monday, despite the best efforts of the Student Union.

We are excited to announce our first printed newspaper in two years (expected March 1st), to exhibit the best of our writing. Feast your eyes on the template in the google drive.

Please add your ideas for this month to the document below, so we can track what articles to expect and pre-empt the layout of the paper. If you would like to contribute but are not sure what, there are a few ideas left to chase up in there too. Claim them by writing your name in the column. I will be adding new opportunities as they come so keep checking back.

Section pitches have all been approved, so if you’ve already pitched to a section ignore this and start writing!

I want to stress that the physical edition makes this month the most important yet and we need as much quality content as possible to fill the paper. The more you write/cover, the greater the chance you will be featured! As ever NEWS, especially local and campus news, IS A PRIORITY.

Don't worry about word counts, but be warned we may have to hatchet down - or extend - your beloved copy to fit where necessary.

Furthermore, wherever possible, please take some photos to go along with your story so we can avoid copyright. Even mobile phone quality is fine.

For submissions please upload to the appropriate google drive sections as normal, on/before February 25th. Copy editors please do corrections, but hold off on publishing anything to the website until we have printed the paper.

Let's work together to create something we can all be proud of.
