DJ Nick Henderson The Phoenix has risen! In 2018, I faced adversity head-on. Through grit, determination, and incredible support, I'm back stronger than ever.

My first full mix since the accident is a testament to my journey. Let's dance our way to the top together! Early Rhythms and Evolution:

My DJ journey began at 12, fueled by the infectious grooves of Dance FM and Centreforce Radio. Around that time, a rising star named Carl Cox ignited my passion for crafting electrifying mixes. My ear trained in diverse settings, from intimate Canary Island bars

to the pulsating sands of Drop Beach and Flag Beach parties. This experience honed my unique style, guaranteed to ignite the dance floor with House and Techno rhythms. Witnessing Legends and Taking the Stage:

The early 90s found me immersed in the electrifying atmosphere of the Drum Club. Witnessing the rise of Daren Emmerson and Underworld, alongside future icons like Left Field, Svenvath, and Andrew Weatheral, shaped my understanding of sonic mastery. My own DJ path flourished across iconic venues:

Teenage Triumphs: Ministry of Sound at 19, Lime Lights and Camden Palace in my early 20s. Canary Island Groove: Ceasers Nightclub, Banana Bar, and countless captivating beach parties. Back to Blighty: NOMAD London and Thurst Bar Greek Street, alongside releasing mixes on SoundCloud and my own website. Rebirth and Renewal:

In late 2018, a life-altering accident forced me to rebuild. Supported by my incredible family and friends, I embarked on a challenging five-year recovery journey. With dedication and the expertise of specialists, I regained my strength and found music calling me back. A New Chapter at Awokakai Recordings:

Mid-2023 reunited me with my brother, owner and manager of Awokakai Recordings. This vibrant label has nurtured diverse talents like MR E, Heliocor, and Julian E, collaborating with vocal powerhouses The Ragga Twins and Jasmine Knight. I'm excited to join this creative family and share my own musical journey through Awokakai.
