KEEP ON CALLING - Nilufer Yanya, directed by Molly Daniel
“Me and my sister, Nilufer, worked on this together one evening. We sat and listened to the song on repeat and just spat out ideas. I had this ridiculous vision of Nils appearing in an abandoned bar, smoking a cigarette and wearing a beret and we took it from there. I had recently seen Aidan Salakhova’s “Revelations” and really loved the over the top, dramatic dominance of the women in her film.
We wrote it out shot for shot and it grew into a sort of "Ode to F**k boys”. We wanted a Neo-noir colour scheme that hinted at the sometimes sinister female mind. Whilst this is about the boy, it’s more about that moment after a relationship when you realise the idea was better than the reality, just like when the lights come on at the end of a club night and it’s all a bit too 'real'."
